Novah Thompson-Finland pov

I woke up that morning filled with excitement, eager to share the incredible news of our pregnancy with my beloved husband. After taking the test last night, I couldn't contain my anticipation.

Suddenly, a series of loud bangs echoed through the house, jolting me awake. Startled, I jumped out of bed, slipped on my slippers, and wrapped myself in a robe. I cautiously stepped out of the room, but to my dismay, I couldn't find my husband anywhere.

Realizing something was amiss, I quickly retraced my steps back to our bedroom. My mind raced with possibilities, and I grabbed the nearest object to me—an iron statue that I kept close by. With a determined stride, I made my way back to the source of the noise.

To my astonishment, the source of the banging was Matteo's office. I approached the door cautiously, twisting it open to reveal a scene of utter chaos. Matteo stood amidst the wreckage, his expression a mix of shock and disbelief.

I placed the iron statue down and approached him, reaching out to grab his hands. But instead of responding, he pulled away abruptly, leaving me bewildered and taken aback. This was unlike any reaction I had ever witnessed from him.

"What's the matter, Matt?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.

"How can you do this to me after everything we've been through?" Matteo's voice trembled with emotion.

"What are you talking about, baby?" I replied, trying to understand his sudden outburst.

"I saw the pictures of you cheating on me."

"What pictures? I never cheated on you."

I was utterly dumbfounded because I had never cheated on my husband, Matteo. He was my life, and I never wanted to ruin that. He went behind his desk and pulled out pictures. He slapped them on the desk, and I picked them up. Tears welled up in my eyes because these pictures were photoshopped. I couldn't believe he didn't see through them. The woman in the pictures didn't look anything like me or have my body type.

"You can't honestly believe these photos,"I said.

"Evidence doesn't lie, Nova," he replied.

"It's not...," i stammered.

"Save your excuses of being a whore. I want you out of my face and house this instant," he snapped.

I rushed over to where he was standing and slapped him. I couldn't believe he had called me a whore and was throwing me out on the street with our child over lies. I looked him dead in the eyes, and the loving man I once knew was gone. I wiped away my tears and walked out of his office. I packed the few things I had brought with me. I looked down at my hand and pulled off the ring. I placed it on the neatly made bed where he could see it. I pulled my luggage down the steps to the front door. I opened the door and took one last look at what I had called home. I then hailed a cab as soon as the rain started to pour. I watched the cab stop in front of me. The cab driver placed my bags in the car for me and held my door open. I sat in the car, wiped my face of the tears that were falling, and closed the cab door.

"To the airport, please."

"Right away, miss."

He stepped on the gas, and off to the airport I went, to disappear from everyone's life. Once I arrived at the airport, I booked a flight to Hawaii. I spent most of my pregnancy enjoying the beach life. As my due date approached, I boarded the next plane back home. And on October 31, Matteo Giovanni Finland Jr. was born, weighing 8 pounds and 10 ounces.
