It was a beautiful Saturday. The sun was setting in front of the tall building, around 30 stories high. Soft music was playing in the background, but something was off. There were clicks of guns being cocked to be shot.
"Are you ready?"
"As ready as I'll ever be."
There was a small giggle, with a sigh after it. "It's so beautiful out. What day is it, Saturday? Yeah, it is." The voice belonged to a small girl, Venus, who was about 4'10. She didn't look like it, but she was 16. She had dark skin that glowed with the sun, and the most beautiful blue eyes. She had black curly hair that was tied up, and she wore her favourite clothes. She was a bit on the heavier side, and she was absolutely gorgeous.
"Such a beautiful day to die, don'tcha think?" The other person said, voice slightly deeper than the girl. His name was Damien, a lanky trans male. He was about 5'9, and was 19. He had dark brown eyes and freckles scattered along his face, and had natural red curly hair that covered his eyes mostly. He took in a deep breath and sighed it out, a smile resting on his face.
"This'll be fun, don't worry."
"I know."
This idea was a joke before, but as both of them grew older, they realized that it could become a reality whenever they wanted.
And they decided, the official date being September 28th, they'd murder each other.
Damien checked his gun once more before looking at Venus. "You look so beautiful, darling." He teases with a laugh. Venus giggled and grinned, coming closer to him. "Yeah? You don't look too bad yourself, ghost boy." She called him that from how pale he was, and he really liked ghosts. "Everything's all set?"
The two had been best friends ever since 4th grade, and were glued to the hip. Basically siblings at this point. They had promised that they'd be the last person they would talk to if they ever were about to die, but it was surprising that it came out like this.
Damien grinned in return, sharp teeth being shown off. "Yep, we're all good." He looked to the sky for a moment before looking back to her, grabbing her hand. "I'm glad I'm not afraid of heights anymore." He said with a breathy chuckle. To be honest, he was terrified.
Venus snorted, starting to walk to the edge of the building.
Damien followed after her, looking down. "It's so high..." he mumbled to himself before looking at the gun. "Ready?"
Venus nodded, pointing the gun to his head. "Ready." He nodded and shakily raised the gun to her head as well, a grin on his face. "We say our last words at the same time, then we shoot." He paused, and they both spoke.
"I love you."
They looked at each other in shock, fingers still on the trigger.
"What?"
