Yokai Watch Nate X Katie

Yokai Are Real

Whisper was interrupted by Nate's stomach rumbling.

Nate: Sorry, that was me. I don't know why I'm hungry. I only had lunch an hour ago.

Whisper: It's because of a yokai. Use your watch to put a stop to this!

Nate: How?

Whisper: With the watch of course. Press that button there.

Nate pressed a button on the side and a light was produced. Nate pointed the light in multiple directions before landing on a silhouette.

Nate: No way! What's that?

Whisper: It's a yokai! You just discovered one!

The Yokai was revealed to be a short old man with an egg-shaped head.

Hungramps: Oh, hello young man.

Name: Hungramps
Tribe: Heartful

Nate: Who's he?

Whisper: Trusting my perfect knowledge of yokai is correct, that is Hungramps.

Nate noticed Whisper scrolling through a tablet of sorts.

Whisper: He's a yokai that makes you feel really hungry.

Nate: Why are you looking that up?

Whisper quickly hid the tablet behind his back.

Whisper: What are you talking about? I never look anything up!

Nate: Whatever. Excuse me, mister Hungramps. I'd like you to leave me alone, please.

Hungramps: I would, but I came to ask if you could help me.

Nate: Sure I can. How can I help?

Hungramps: Well, I came to Mount Wildwood for a stroll, but I lost my way and can't get back to Springdale.

Whisper: Perfect! Lead the way, Nate!

Nate: Um...I'm kinda lost, too.

Whisper: What?

Nate: I've never been to this part of the woods before. It's all new to me. Sorry, Hungramps. Looks like we're both lost.

Whisper: Not completely.

Nate: What?

Whisper: Use your yokai watch to look over there.

Whisper pointed to a spot in front of some bushes. Nate did the same as before but this time found another yokai. It was a short blue oni with one eye and an enormous arm. Whisper began reading info from his tablet, trying not to let Nate see it.

Whisper: This is the Yokai Leadoni.

Name: Leadoni
Tribe: Shady

Whisper: He is a yokai who helps people who are lost. He can show you the right way home.

Nate: Sweet, can you do that Leadoni?

Leadoni: Of course I can. Follow me.

And Leadoni led them out of the clearing. They ended up coming out of the woods and into the town of Springdale.

Nate: Wow, thanks Leadoni.

Leadoni: No problem.

Hungramps: Thank you for trying to help me young man. As a token of my gratitude, take this.

The elderly yokai passed a coin of sorts to Nate. It had a picture of Hungramps on one side, and the other had a flower in a green background.

Nate: What's this?

Hungramps: It's my yokai medal.

Whisper: Well done, Nate! A yokai medal represents the relationship between humans and yokai.

Nate: Thank you, Hungramps.

Leadoni: Here, have mine.

Leadoni opened his enormous hand to reveal his own medal in it. Nate took it.

Nate: Thank you too, Leadoni.

Whisper: Wow, you only just found the Yokai watch and you already made two yokai friends.

Nate: I'd better call Katie to let her know I'm heading home.

Katie was walking along a path in the woods. She had been looking for Nate for a while now, with no luck. She hoped he would be okay. She thought of him as a good friend, and maybe even had a small crush on him. Then she received a call from him. She answered her phone.

Katie: Nate, is that you? I've been so worried!

Nate: Don't worry Katie, I'm fine. I was just calling to let you know I'm heading home. I'll talk to you later, okay?

Katie: Okay, bye Nate.

The call was ended and Katie put the phone back in her pocket. She sighed. She had been hoping Nate would stick around for a while. She decided to head home herself, knowing if she stayed Bear and Eddie would probably find her and do something annoying.

Nate was getting changed for bed. He didn't feel comfortable having to share a room with Whisper, but the butler insisted on staying. At least his parents couldn't see Whisper.

Whisper: Who's Katie?

Nate was confused by the sudden question.

Nate: What?

Whisper: Earlier you called a girl named Katie. Who is she?

Nate: She's a friend of mine from class.

Nate: (in head) And possibly the prettiest girl in existence.

That night, Nate struggled to sleep, starting to feel bad for just leaving Katie and the others in the forest. He then thought about Katie and wished she would notice him more...
