The moon was high in the sky as the autumn night chilled the groups of giggling children that were going door to door for candy. their costumes of vampires, werewolves, witches, movie / TV show characters all costumes were vast and different from each other and this little girl was no exception.

Wearing a white frilly dress with brown ballerina flats and intricate wings that were made from leftover scraps of her mom's stained glass window film, wires, and plastic wrap. The little girl was giddy as she dragged her mom to each house. "Mommy mommy! Hurry to the next house!!" her mother couldn't keep up "Hold on my fairy princess there's no need to rush"

She giggles as she runs up to the big door and knocks as a tall woman comes out with a bowl

"Trick or treat!!" the girl said excitedly

"Oh my a fairy! What is a cute little fairy like yourself out so late!"

"I am (y/n)! The fairy princess!" The lady gasps in amazement

"Wow, fairy princesses!! You have a very pretty set of wings!" She says as she puts the last bit of candy from her bowl to the girls bag.

The girl giggles and thanks the lady then returns to her mom to head home for the night. However, despite it being 9:30pm the girl wasn't tired, "Mommy I'm not tired yet, can I play out back?" Living near the forest it was dark and hard to see. "No sweety, it's time for bed"

"But Mom" She argues back.

"No 'buts', time for bed." The child pouts as her mom sets her candy bag down on her little play table and continues to help undress her. When the girl is in pj's she sets her wings near the bed as her mom tucks her in. "Story momma?"

Thinking for a bit and making one up one the spot the mother starts, "Once upon a time a little princess like yourself was kept away in her castle. She would sneak out every night to meet her prince but her prince was deceitful and was slowly luring her further into the woods. One night she went too far and got lost. She had thought she was going to run away with him but having nothing with her but the clothes on her back she wept.

"Not far away was a sleeping king, the fairy king to be exact. He awoke to the cries of the young girl and went to her aid. 'What's a young girl like yourself doing so far out here alone?' He asked 'I lost my way and let myself be tricked by a man, he promised me happiness but that was a lie.' She sobbed. The king listened to her story and said 'I'll guide you out of my woods and back home.' She nodded and took his hand as he led her home. 'How can I repay your kindness?' She asked tiredly as he thought for a good minute. "When you're 18th birthday comes I'll come back and take you as my wife' The girl nodded and the king smiled, "Then I will see you in 13 years time''"

The girl yawned "I'm 7 too" her mother stopped, "And that's the end for now" she kissed the girl on the head then left the room.
