Chapter 1 : who is she?

There stood Moon Gang Tae with his hyung (brother) Moon Sang Tae, they had been standing there for ages, hesitating to came inside their old abandoned house, since that house brought them tragedy, but they have nowhere to go, they had no money left to even rent a cheap house.

"Gaaa... Gaaa... Gang Tae, what if we just leave?"

"Hyung, listen carefully, we had nowhere to go, are you not ashamed of always living in our friend's house?"

"But Gang Tae..."

"Sshhh... It's going to be okay, hyung, I'm here with you okay? Nothing's gonna happen."

Gang Tae gently opened the door, which led them inside the house, where all the furnitures were covered in white. The only thing he remembered about this old house was the garden. All of the beautiful plants are now dead, since their mother was the one who always took care of them.

Suddenly, Gang Tae started to remember all of those vivid scene inside his head about this garden, where all he remembered was that a girl saved him and his brother from being murdered while their mother got killed. He wanted to piss that off but he always had nightmares. Besides, he was curious about the girl who saved his life. She had a really long black hair, but he couldn't remember her face even though they used to be pretty close. That girl disappeared out of nowhere after saving him.

Gang Tae let out a big sigh, "maybe Sang Tae and I can start a new life here."

"Sang Tae! Hyung! Sang Tae! Dinner's ready!" Gang Tae shouted calling for his brother.

Today, he cooked tteokbokki, his brother's favorite. He loved his brother so much, he's all he had left after his mother was gone. He swore to always protect him.

He decided to go upstairs, because there is no sings of his brother showing up.

"Hyung, who are you talking to?"

"A girl...."

"A girl? Hyung, don't mess with me! It's not funny hyung, it's only the both of us here!"

"But she's here a moment ago"

"Sang Tae, I know that you're scared, but it's nothing alright? There's nothing such as ghosts."

"But Gang Tae, she's...."

Before finishing his words, Gang Tae dragged him out of his room.

"Come on, Sang Tae, let's go eat! I prepared your favorite food!"

It was 7 AM in the morning, Sang Tae was still asleep in his bed, while Gang Tae was finished taking a bath. Gang Tae volunteered at a psychiatric hospital, that's why he needed to wake up this early. He knew he wasn't rich, his aunt offered him to work for her, but he refused. He said that serving other people with mental illness is his life, well maybe it's because his brother had autism.

"Hyung, I'm sorry, I had to leave early, there's an emergency. If you are awake, I prepared your breakfast downstairs, I also made you lunch, make sure to take that to work. Ohhh, and please wait for me, let's have dinner together" Gang Tae said, leaving a note beside his brother's bed.

He smiled for a split second, then went downstairs. As he was walking down the stairs, he felt like a pair of arms holding him. Suddenly, he saw a figure, it was a girl! She smiled softly at him.

"Gang Tae, you're daydreaming!" he said to himself, then blink his eyes, just to make sure what he saw wasn't real.

And, yes, it disappeared!

"See? There's no such thing as ghosts!" he mumbled as he went outside the car.

"Can you lend me your arm ma'am?" Gang Tae said, wrapping the bandage over the old lady's arm.

"You are a good man, Gang Tae" she said, smiling sincerely.

Gang Tae smiled back.

"Did you have a girlfriend?"

"Mwolago (pardon) ?!" Gang Tae said, shocked.

"Did you have a girlfriend? You are kind, handsome, also wise, I wish I could introduce you to my daughter."

"I....I don't ma'am."

"Why is that?"

"I'm not really sure, I'm really confused with my own heart."

"You liked someone?"

"I'm not sure, it feels like I'm still stuck with someone but I didn't even remember her face."

"I see. I really wished my daughter was still here, you were completely her type."

"I'm sorry, but what happened to your daughter?"

"She died, sacrificing her life for the boy he loved and her best friend. You wouldn't believe it but my daughter used to be so cold-hearted, she changed after knowing that boy. I also felt so guilty, I wasn't nice to her when she was still here."

"I'm sorry ma'am"

"It's okay, I'm proud of her tho." she said, holding her necklace tight, maybe it reminded her of her daughter.

"Mun Yeong-ah! Here! I have something for you!"

"Gang Tae! Don't be too loud! We might wake your mom and oppa up!"

"Don't worry Mun Yeong, we won't! Here, I bought this for you with my own money!"

"What's this Gang Tae?"

"Just see it for yourself!"

Mun Yeong let out a chuckle, she was the happiest with him. He made her feel loved when anyone else including her own family was afraid of her.

"Gang Tae, yeppeuda (beautiful)!" she said, hugging him tightly.

It was a necklace, it might not be that expensive, but Gang Tae bought it with his own money, he said he would work on his mom's bakery under one condition, if she pays him.
