You couldn't remember much of your childhood. But what you could remember, you wished you didn't.

The memories still haunt you to this day, as you lay spread out on the stiff mattress in the dimly lit grey room. Sleep had once again failed to comfort your tired, aching body, but you couldn't help but feel almost relieved. Sleep was the one thing that brought the nightmares. The dreams of distant memories that you can only pray would leave your broken mind.

You closed your eyes tightly, awaiting the familiar  yet annoying ring of the early morning bell. It was your daily signal to start the same day, over and over again. Wake up, training, morning patrol, more training, eat, even more training, eat again, and then finally return to the barracks.

This had been your routine for as long as you can remember, and you couldn't help but love it. You craved off the feeling of absolute nothingness. The feeling of being deserted, abandoned, and alone. Even though you weren't. You had several friends that you ate with occasionally, but they were never there with you through the pain. They weren't there when you cried yourself to sleep, only to find that that was where the nightmares lurked. They weren't there when you needed them to be.

But, as always, you had grown used to it. Accepted the fact that this is how it would always be. Nothing could change it.

Or so you thought.

Authors Note:

Sorry for the short chapter, I kind of figured I could use this as a "Second Introduction" for the main character in this story. I will be updating more, don't worry, but for now this will do.

As I have said before, this is still a work in progress. I am not a professional writer, and I'm not that great at writing stories in the first place. But it's something I really enjoy and I hope you will too.

I have plans for this story in the future, so please please please be patient with me.

Happy reading loves, more updates soon! ;)
