Richard Acker had always been an observant man. He always noticed when things around him seemed off, especially in his own house.
This time was no different.
There was something in his house and he was sure of it.
Just the month before, he had walked into his kitchen and saw a something run behind his fridge, but by the time he looked it had vanished.
Then, 2 days later, he had noticed a needle missing from his sewing kit.
And just today he noticed that one of his old pairs of shoes was missing its shoe laces. Though these things weren't to big of a deal, it was still suspicious.
The wierdest thing is that, now, he was hearing....tapping...? In the walls...?
Well, that didn't make sense. Maybe it was in the other room? No. That couldn't be it either. He ran his hand through his hair in frustration. He'd thought it was rats or mice at first but he'd set up mouse traps multiple times.
He would have to be much more alert than usual if he wanted to figure this whole thing out.

Nick ran through the walls quickly, hook in hand. This sucks. What sucks? Well, it just just so happens that last night while he was asleep, weavles got onto the crackers that were supposed to be his food supply for the next week. So now he had to go borrowing at an irregular time and on an irregular day.
He knew the human was home today. That was even more nerve-wracking. Normally, if he went borrowing, it would be on a Wednesday or friday. Those were usually days where Acker wouldn't be at home.
Nick wasn't sure what the man did while he was out, and, frankly, he didn't really care. As long he was out of the way. Sadly though, that not be the case on this particular day.
Nick scrambled through the walls until he finally reached a small hole behind the fridge. He reached for his patchy, makeshift satchel and pulled out a rope- or, well, it was actually piece of yarn but, all things considered, it was basically a rope to him -which was tied to a fish hook.
"Here we go again." He sighed, "It's just a little more dangerous this time.".
