Let's gooo!

Virgil struggled with the lock on his locker. You'd think with how easy TV and movies depict these things they would work. He tugged really hard and the lock popped open.

"Shit. Well that isn't good... Welp at least it's open."
Virgil said, opening his locker. Another kid, Roman walked to his locker, which was right next to Virgils.

"Hey Virgil."
Roman said, trying to open his locker in one swift go, and ultimately failing. He then spent 30 seconds tugging on it and cussing.
Then, the lock popped open.
"Shit... Uhhhh... Uhmmm... I'm not putting this back on anytime soon."
Roman said, putting the lock on the top shelf of his locker.

"Heh"
Virgil said.
"Same thing just happened to me too, the school really needs new locks."
Virgil said, shoving stuff in his backpack.

"Yeah they really do... Anyways, see you at rehearsal!"
Roman said, waving at Virgil with his script.

Now, some of you may be wondering, why someone with anxiety would do theatre? Does he do stage crew??
No, he's on the stage, because he's incredibly talented. He has strategies to help him. This year he's just playing an extra, just like all the other years, but that's okay!

Virgil finally finished packing up his stuff, and he headed twords the auditorium. He got there to find it in absolute chaos. The director was flipping through her notes anxiously and the kids were whispering nervously.

He sat next to Roman.
"Uhh, Ro, what's happening?"
Virgil asked, whispering.

"Well, uh, remember Caroline? The girl who was playing Fiona?"
Roman asked me.

"Yeah, how could I not, she's so nice!"
Virgil whispered back.

"She had to drop the show because of family issues."
Roman finished.

"Oooh, that sucks. Why can't they find another girl to play Fiona?"
Virgil asked.

"Because all of the girls who wanted Fiona at the start quit after casting. Little bitches."
Roman answered.

"I hate people like that. But why not one of the girls in the cast already?"
Virgil asked.

"None of them want to do it."
Roman said.

Suddenly, Virgil had an idea.

"What if one of the male cast members plays Fiona?"
He suggested.

Roman seemed surprised, but he nodded.
"That might work! Go tell Mrs.sun!"
Roman whispered.

Virgil speedwalked up to the director, and told her his idea. She nodded and got onstage, and Virgil sat back down next to Roman.

"Hello actors, actresses, and other thespians!"
Mrs.sun said, gesturing to all of the students in the auditorium.
"As you know we've has a little issue with casting, but there's a solution! Are any male cast members up to play Fiona? I know it might be hard but that's what theatre is all about! Overcoming challenges!"

A few hands went up, including Virgils.

"Alrighty! Let's have our very talented Shrek come up on stage and we can see who will be the best fit!"
Mrs.Sun said, gesturing for Roman to come up on stage. Roman tripped on one of the steps and Virgil, out of habit, called out,
"The mighty empire has fallen!"
In an overly dramatic voice.
Roman jokingly did a drawn out death scene, while Mrs.Sun was just standing on the stage, slightly annoyed.
