SEEING STEVE AFTER TWO YEARS WITHOUT ANY NEWS PART 1

You were apart of the Avengers , except that the accords of Sokovia had separated all of you, which had broken your heart. Even if you weren't dating anymore and that your relationship ended pretty badly for both of you, you were on Steve's side on this one, because even after everything that happened, you cared about him and you were still friends, just a little distant. You were sharing his opinion, and you thought you could handle the fact he moved on with Sharon when you saw them together, even if it was just once, but it kinda hurts really bad deep in your heart.

Anyway, after you helped him getting everyone out of that prison in the sea you thought you would be a fugitive with all your friends. But Steve had an other idea in mind and sting you with a sedative after you were debating on the fact that he didn't want you to put your life in danger. After his action that felt like he betrayed your trust, you would leave by yourself, but still check on Tony once a week after you two reconciled. You never got any news from Steve, God it hurts to think about him. You would even think sometimes he might be dead, and this idea would haunt you at night and give you nightmares.

After two years of loneliness, you heard about Tony missing and got a call from T'challa saying he needed your help, after all you owed him for what he did for Bucky, so you went in Wakanda knowing what could probably happen...war. When you arrived he asked you to wait in a room that looked like an office, it was empty. You waited a few minutes before you hear the door open and then being locked, so you turn around confused and that's when you saw him. He looked different, more hair, more.......beard? Damn that looks good on him. He stepped forward in your direction...

S: Y/N I-

But he got cut by your fist in his jaw, which probably hurt yourself more than it hurted him....that's why your are still holding it with your other hand close to your stomach after you winced at the pain...

S: Y/N-

Y/N: TWO YEARS!
There was a small silence.....

Y/N: TWO---FUCKING----LONG YEARS!

S:.........I'm sorry...

You laughed a little in a sarcastic way with a fake smile that faded away really fast and looked anywhere else than into his eyes.....

Y/N: You better!.......but that won't change anything because I don't believe a word you way anymore...

You say angrily almost in a whisper trying to hold back tears.

S: I wanted to protect you.

Y/N: Oh please! Don't fucking use that card with me! You know I hate that, and I can take care of myself thank you, I've done it the last two years without your help!

You look at him, your arms crossed in front of your chest and at the second you look into his eyes, you let a tear fall of your own. He looks sad, and sorry, and feel guilty knowing he's the cause of your sadness. He responds after a few seconds...

S: You're right....I was protecting myself.

Y/N: From what?.......From ME!?!
You say in disbelief and your face is clearly showing it....

S: NO! No! I didn't say that, I meant-

Y/N: YOU LEFT ME!!!

You shoot at him. Which make him stop in his tentative to explain you. You raise your arm up in a direction which is nowhere in fact, like if you were pointing at that moment where your trust for him broke...and your heart with it, and keep going....

Y/N: YOU LEAVED ME ALONE! YOU SEND ME AWAY! How could you do that...?

You say the last part in a whisper again, and can't hold back the tears anymore, and even if they fall, you don't sniff or else and try to keep a straight face. You try to look strong...but you are not okay. He tries to reach your hands but you don't let him do it, so instead he takes you on his arms and you try again to go away from him, shoving him and giving him weak punches in the chest. He's stronger than you and tighten his embrace even more.

S: Hey, stop, stop, stop. I'm sorry. I made a mistake, okay?....I'm sorry.

He whispers to you. You melt in his embrace and start to hug him back really tight sobbing and thinking about how much you missed him. His chin was resting on your head and sometimes he would give you a soft kiss on the top of it while his arms were wrapped around your small body. You stayed like this a few minutes until you calmed down. You are still close to each other and you still have an arm around him, the other is holding his wrist while he cups your cheeks with both hands and caress your wet cheeks...

S: I won't leave you anymore, I promise.

He says with a small smile, honest and true, and you believe him but...

Y/N: Why did you left....?

He was gonna say something, even if he was still trying to find his words, getting lost into your beautiful bright eyes. And got stopped by Bucky saying everyone was waiting for both of you while they were checking on Vision. Bucky leaves and you are the first to step in the corridor with Steve following you.

Suddenly you feel a grasp on your left wrist tugging you and turning you around really fast, and then Steve's hands were on your cheeks again, just as his lips were on yours. He kissed you deeply, with passion, need and affection all at the same time. Both of you, eyes closed. Your hands weren't holding his wrists but were resting in them, still surprised and almost choked by Steve's action. Then he rested his forehead against yours, both of you breathing again because it seemed like you forgot how to do that while kissing.

S: I love you...that's why.

A tear escape your eye again and then he left after someone called him from from a room not far from you but wasn't in your field of vision. You were still standing at the same spot kinda lost. You see Sam standing in front of you in the opposite direction of where Steve went, he saw the all scene...

Y/N: Did you knew about this?

You ask him, still confused...

S: He never stopped loving you Y/N.....He tried but ( he says with a small laugh )....couldn't help it...

And then he left too, with a smile on his face while you were still adding the information. After a minute, you went where everyone was with Vision but didn't got the chance or the time to speak with Steve because you had to go to fight. And you couldn't stop yourself to be afraid of what was gonna happen next...
