I hummed softly to myself as I washed my recently used dishes. I did a little dance and laughed at myself quietly. " Come onnn," I said to the plate in hand. I had been scrubbing this particular one for a couple of minutes but I wasn't having any luck getting the food off of it. I sighed as I set the plate back down in the water and went to rinse and put away the rest of the dishes.
After I had finished with the rest of the dishes I glanced at the plate still in the sink and decided I could leave it until later. I grabbed my kitchen towel and dried my hands on it after I was satisfied with the dryness of my hands I walked to the back of my small apartment into my bedroom and flopped myself down onto my bed.
I shivered slightly, noticing how chilly it was in here. I raised my hand and activated my quirk, sending a wave of warmth into my bedroom. "that's better" I thought to myself as I pulled out my phone and began to play mindless games.
If you're wondering what my quirk is, I can manipulate temperature, I can send out waves of whatever temperature I want, and I can also change the body temperature of someone by touching their forehead. It comes in handy sometimes. Although I had never really used it on a person other than when I was younger.
I sighed, putting my phone down, a sudden wave of sadness coming over me as I thought of the last time I used my quirk on a person. I didn't hurt them with it, but I used it on my parents' last. They used to always ask me to warm them up or cool them off. I still missed them sometimes. It had been 3 years since both my mother and father were murdered by some villain. I still don't know who it was. The police wouldn't tell me. I inherited my parents' fortune, allowing me to keep living in, and paying for the apartment we lived in.
Before you ask how I managed to live by myself, I graduated last year. Im 19 years old. My Aunt lived with me until I turned 18 and then she moved out. Leaving the house to me. Living by myself could get lonely sometimes, but if I'm being honest I preferred to be by myself. Im a pretty shy person. Despite my looks, which consists of long black hair, white eyes, and fair skin. I think people tend to assume I am more outgoing because of my piercings and tattoo.
It might also be due to my eyes being completely white. No iris or pupil or anything. Yet I can see perfectly fine. I was just born that way. My tattoo is on my left upper arm. Its an arrow with wings on either side of it. There's no meaning behind it. Other than the fact that I think wings and arrows are cool. That's probably why Hawks is my favorite pro hero. His big red wings.
I laughed quietly to myself as I sightly fan girl over Hawks, glancing at my phone to see the clock saying it is 10:00 at night. I was planning on going to the park tomorrow so I should probably go to sleep. I stood up out of bed and trudged over to my closet, pulling on a pair of shorts and an oversized t-shirt before turning the light off and climbing back into bed. Just as I was falling asleep I remembered that I wanted to get sparklers tomorrow when I went to the park.
-Next morning-
I groaned as my alarm beeped rather loudly telling me to wake up. I lazily reached my hand over to my beside table and slapped at my clock until it stopped annoyingly beeping. Stretching I sat up and scratched my head. Becoming very aware of my awful bed head I always seemed to achieve. With a yawn I got out of bed and over to my closet once more. I decided to wear a light blue knit sweater with some black ripped skinny jeans. I grabbed my outfit and other nessecarry under garments and made my way to the bathroom.
Once in my bathroom I sat my clothes down on the counter, undressed and hopped in the shower. I stood under the hot water, washing myself with my bubbly soap. It was my favorite because of how much suds it created. After I had finished with my soap I continued to stand under the water, just enjoying it. Once my fingers started to wrinkle up I decided it was time to get out.
I quickly dried off and dressed myself before heading back to my room to do my hair and makeup. Sitting down in front of my mirror I grabbed my hairbrush and began to detangle my still damp hair. Tapping my chin I decided to leave my hair down today. Moving on to make up now. I think ill go with just a bold eye liner today. I quickly and effortlessly swiped the black liner over each of my eyelids. Satisfied with my look for the day, I grabbed my shoes and my house keys, along with my wallet.
I stepped out of my apartment, locking the door behind me. I walked down the stairs and made my way to the shop down the road that sold sparklers. After about a 15 minute walk I arrived at the store. I gently opened the door and a soft bell jingled as I did so. A boy about my age looked up at me from behind the counter. He had spikey red hair and eyes that matched his hair color. I had to admit he was pretty cute.
"oh hey! Welcome to my humble abode!" he said smiling.
I raised an eyebrow slightly "you live here?" I asked looking around and spotting the sparklers.
"heh, yeah I live upstairs. I own this shop." The boy said, rubbing the back of his neck with his hand. I nodded as I grabbed a package of the sparklers before walking up to him at the counter. He rang me up and put my purchase in a small bag. "that'll be $10.00." He said handing me the bag. I gave him a 10 dollar bill and thanked him as I made my way back to the door.
"Oh I never got your name!" he said suddenly. "Mines Eijiro Kirishima!" He said with a big toothy smile. I noticed he had sharp teeth. Like a shark. Sharky boy.
"Shel," I simply replied and walked out of his shop.
