We've been friends for the longest time that's because we grew up together, spent almost every weekly moment together & we love each other.
But I guess the love just wasn't the same, for me it was more like "the love of my life" type of love but for him it was more like "she's my best friend of course I love her"
I was watching YouTube videos on my laptop, sitting on my bed when someone knocked on the door.
"Are you naked?"
"Yes I am" I said giggling because of how stupid my best friend can be.
"Good, I'm coming in then" Jace said coming in waving a packet of popcorn
"Yeah sure Jace, what if I really was naked" I asked cooing
"Ah I think that would've been a sight huh" he said flopping on my bed sitting next to me.
"Yeah sure."
We sat in silence, eating popcorn & watched YouTube videos until Jace spoke out.
"So Rie, Lizzy tells me you're fancying someone. Should I be worried & do I need to rearrange someone's jaw if they break your heart"
I tensed up a bit not knowing what to say, thinking maybe I should just say "ohhh yeah I do & I just so happens to be you" & lean in for a kiss & he obviously feels the same way, but not I just let out an awkward laugh along with a snort.
"Mhm yeah, but I don't think you'll want to break his jaw."
"Well are you going to tell me who it is?" Jace questioned uneasily but I shrugged that off.
"No" I said nonchalantly popping popcorn in my mouth & turned my head to my laptop.
"Rie, you know you can tell me anything right." He sighed from curiosity.
"Yeah I know." I said not turning my head away from the screen.
"Okay okay, how about we play a little game then?"
"& perhaps which game would that be, Scrabble?" I teased
"No you maniac, what is with you & Scrabble?" Jace let out a small chuckle
"Okay so what game are we talking about here?" I asked turning to face him.
"Something called twenty"
"Twenty what?"
"Just twenty"
"Okay elaborate please you've lost me" I said heaving a sigh.
"So basically I basically ask you 20 questions, these will be more like hints for me to figure out who's this person you like & thats about it."
"Isn't that more like a questionnaire but okay".
"Okay question number 1, is it a guy or a girl" Jace asked scanning my face.
"Its a guy Jace" I said giggling.
"Ahh darn it" Jace muttered.
"Number 2, do I know him?" Jace asked clamping his teeth together which I also shrugged off.
"Ohhh you know him alright" I said closing my laptop & stood up to go brush my teeth leaving Jace there muttering something under his breathe.
When I came back I told Jace I'm sleeping so he kissed my cheek goodnight & left.
