I was kind of suprised when Kayden came up to me and sincerely apologized yesterday. I honestly think he had nothing to apologise for though, but I was kind of happy he did, in a strange way. I was also very happy about him inviting me over, it think it will be fun actually. I hope it will. I start writing, about my day, my feelings, Kayden.
Kayden really seems like an okay guy and all of that but that's for me to find out in Thursday. I'm making my homework and it doesn't take long before I get a text from Shanley.
*Hey girl, I realized something big* She sent.
Shanley was that kind of person who always loved for you to guess what she's thinking, it's really annoying after 4 years of friendship but I wouldn't have it any other way to be honest.
*Ohyeah? And what's that?* I send back
*I don't have a dress, yet. So you're coming out shopping with me. I'm on my way to your house, love you. See you in a few minutes.* she sent. This makes one out of a thousand times that Shanley is coming over with just a 2 minute notice. This time I don't really mind though because I really wanted her to follow me to this party. I really did need her there.
Before I could send her a message back I heard the doorbell ring. I immediately rushed downstairs and opened the door, only to find Lily in front of me.
"Hey, Kayden asked me to give this to you. It is his phone number. He also said that I should tell you sorry that he couldn't give it to you himself but he's gone out shopping for a new television." She says.
I don't know what to think. He gave me his phone number, well technically his sister did but that doesn't matter. Should I text him right away? What should I say? Or should I call? I don't know. I've never been this indecisive before, it's strange, very, very strange.
"Brooklynn." Lily brought me back to reality.
"Oh, yeah. I'm sorry. I'll text him, I mean call, I mean... Uhm. Yeah, you know." I stutter.
"Yeah sure, I think you need to go lay down, Brook." She laughs.
"Yeah, that's a good one thanks for the tip. I'll see you, Lily. Thanks for bringing the number over."
After Lily leaves, I go to the living room and directly text Shanley to ask were she was. If she was already on her way then she was supposed to be here already. I also decide to text Kayden even though I know he probably won't reply because he's out shopping for a TV. I tell him that Lily gave me his number and ask him how he's doing. Once I texted Kayden and Shanley, I can't stop checking my phone every 2 minutes to see if they texted back. It's ridiculous to be honest but I can't help it.
After what feels like an eternity, but actually really is 45 minutes, my phone buzzed in my pocket but instead of a text, it was a phone call from Shanley. Which is good because I started getting worried. Really worried.
"Where are you? You are supposed to be here already." I say, worry clear in my voice
"I know, I know, but I kind of tripped half way to your house and I had to go change. I'm sorry but I'm in front of your house now, so open up."
"Okay, coming." I say as I end the phone call
I walk over the front door and let Shanley in.
"So let's go then?" I ask
"Uhm yeah, good idea but I'm going to eat something first." She says. Shanley wasn't a stranger here. She comes almost everyday and the days that she isn't here, I'm there. She's practically my mom's second daughter.
Her eating something also gives me a good opportunity to go and change into something more comfortable. For me, those are a regular white tank top and skinny jeans, but my skinny jeans are all in laundry so I just go for blue pants. In Shanley's case that would be a cardigan and jeans which is exactly what she's wearing today.
"Are you ready to go?" Shanley asks
"Yeah, let's go."
-
"No, no, no Shanley, I don't like this dress. It's way too revealing." I say.
"Brooklynn, this is dress number 5 that you don't like, we have to agree on something."
"Okay but it's definitely not going to be this, so change. I'll go and search for some nice dresses. I'll be right back."
I walk over to the section were all the dresses are and look around. To be honest, I don't like any of them. They are either , too revealing, too boring or too 'out there'. It takes me a while to find a nice dress but I finally do. It's a white dress that is not too short and I think I will fit Shanley just right. I hope she thinks so too but as I'm walking back to the dressing room area I start to doubt it.
"Shan, it think I found something good." I say as I hand the dress over to Shanley.
There are a few minutes of silence which makes me think Shanley doesn't really like it. She comes out of the dressing room and everything I thought of the dress is true. It fits Shanley perfectly, it's not too revealing but als not too covering. I just hope Shanley likes it. She can't keep her eyes off of the mirror and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad one.
"So what do you think?" I ask my voice full of hope.
"I think it's really pretty. How do I look?" She asks still staring at her reflection.
"You look hot, girl" I say and our laughter fills the room.
"I know right, let's go and pay."
"Yes, finally we agree on something, something very, very good."
