Prologue
Twirling in my new duchess satin gown, with my eyes directed at the mirror, filled me with utmost wonder. The soft fabric touched my skin satisfyingly with specks of glitter on the side of the sleeves. I can't help but to smile at the sight. It feels like I'm a living princess with a palace and a horse.
"This one is a good one, isn't it?" Mama asked the clerk, in which he nodded.
"This is the most expensive piece that we have, madam. It was crafted in Paris, by Madame Charlotte Leveraux!"
Mama nodded briefly. She inched closer to me and touched the fabric with cat-like eyes. She gazed at every detail of my dress and searched for any flaws. This is perfect, though! I love this dress!
"Hmm... Darling, what do you think?" she asked with a half-smile.
"I think this one's good, Mama! It's pretty!" I giggled and twirled again. "It fits me perfectly well and it's comfortable!"
Mama nodded, letting go of the gown. She elegantly faced the clerk and pursed her lips.
"We'll take it," she said with a smile. "How much is it, you say?"
"30k, madame." The clerk smiled.
Mama glanced at me before she handed her black card. I grinned and continued twirling, while looking at myself in the mirror. We'll be having a dinner next week, so Mama took me out to do some shopping. She doesn't like it when I repeat my clothes so every dinner, she buys me a gown and asks her stylist to make me look like a princess.
After buying the gown, we strolled around the mall to buy a few more things. Mama has no limit when it comes to clothes. Kahit anong matipuhan niya o matipuhan ko ay bibilhin niya talaga. Kahit isang milyon pa 'yan o ten million.
"You'll be having a gathering with your friends later, am I right?" Mama asked after we left a store and bought a bag.
"Yeah, can you bring me to Stella's house, Mama? She said we'll meet up there." I told her while I'm typing on my phone.
"Hmm... okay. Just text me when you need to go home. Don't stay too late." she stroked my hair and placed her hand on my shoulder.
Ngumiti lang ako at pinagpatuloy ang pagtetext. I can't help but to giggle at their messages. They seem too excited to meet up later. Most especially, since the Montereals will be holding a party at their townhouse in Valley Heights.
Stella:
Damn, I heard Iñigo will be there! They're celebrating his cousin's graduation!
Harriet:
Which cousin? Is it Frances Villada?
