Somewhere in South Dakota Pete Lattimer was spinning around in a chair obviously bored out of his mind. There hasn't been a Ping in at least a month and he wanted to get back in the field and he had the night shift in case there was any action. Just last week he and his wife of 6 months have been settling in their new room at the B&B pretty well. Pete stopped his circles when he heard the beeping of the door open. He lifted up his head to see Myka walk in with the new Caretaker and their friend Claudia. "Mr. Lattimer." Myka greeted her husband with a smile. "Mrs. Lattimer." Pete said smiling back and giving her a peck on the lips.
Out of the blue Claudia throws a box falls on Pete's lap. He looks down to see a box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts. "Eat up. You're going to need it." Myka said as she grabbed a glazed doughnut. "Thanks Mykes." He said. As pete picks out a maple bar The dog Trailer wakes up from his nap stretching. He was getting about the age where they would have to put him down. And Claudia knew it. "Any pings yet?" Claudia asked as she sat in a chair. Next to the Ex secret service agent. "Nothing. Its almost like..." Pete then gets cut off by Myka. "Like all the artifacts are asleep." She said and turned back to her husband and gave him an apologetic look for cutting him off.
Claudia takes a maple bar out of the box. "Maybe. But that doesn't mean we can give up. Maybe the computer needs a re-boot." The Caretaker suggested. "We re-booted it 3 days ago. Pete go check for the football. You're better at throwing it than I am." Pete nodded as he finished his doughnut and the door opens again only for Steve Ginx to walk in with Artie. "No need. I just threw it." Apparently he heard Myka saved by the bell.
Artie then makes a b line to the doughnuts and grabs a chocolate one. Not a second later and the ping alarm went off. "Finally." Pete mumbled as he quickly turned his chair to see what's going on. Claudia scooted closer to the computer as Myka, Steve and Artie gathered around. "Location, Boise Idaho. 2 college students at Boise state University reported dead with 2 giant bullet holes in their chest. The bullets inside the students were confirmed to be WWII aviation bullets." Claudia read out loud. Looks like a new WWII artifact. "Pete, Myka you two go to Idaho. Find witnesses that saw the students get shot." Artie gave his first orders in 2 weeks. "Got it." Pete said as he grabbed the last doughnut before Steve could get it and headed out the door.
Myka smiled a Little. She had to admit that she missed being out in the field and getting back into action. As she got the bags and purple gloves, Steve stopped her. "Hey, Myka you feeling all right? your face looks a bit pale." He asked. The brunette nodded. "Yeah I'm fine." She said. "You're lying." Steve said putting his hands on his hips. Apparently she forgot Steve could tell if someone was lying. Myka then let out a sigh. "I.... have been feeling a little nauseous and for some reason I have had these food cravings." She admitted to Steve. Steve nodded and took the stuff out of her hands. "You stay here. I'll go with Pete. That is a new Jeep you two got and I am not letting you get it dirty." Steve said and Myka nodded.
As Steve left she got a concerned look from both Claudia and Artie. "What?" She asked. "Nauseated?" Artie asked. "Food cravings?" Claudia added in. "I'm calling Dr. Vanessa." Artie said getting his Farnsworth out of his bag. "Wait, what are you talking about?" Myka asked being completely clueless about what they were talking about. Claudia got up and went over to Myka. "Myka, have you been having mood swings?" Claudia asked. Myka was a bit hesitant. "Yeah?" Claudia asked another one. "What about your scent?" She asked. "Well its stronger than normal but I'm not smelling any fudge." Myka answered. "And what kind of cravings have you been having? Pickles?" Claudia asked raising her eyebrows. "Yeah how did you know?" Myka asked.
As Claudia was going to talk Artie butted in. "Dr. Vanessa is on her way. Myka, She needs you to be at the B&B right away before she arrives." Myka sighs and nods walking out of the room to her car that she drove in.
