Last Kiss (Draco x Reader)

The enchanted paper bird landed on the puffapod she was currently tending to. It was rather inconvenient timing as she was trying to focus on not dropping any of the shining beans. Padma caught her eye from the other side of the plant, glancing between the note then back to her friend before rolling her eyes.

"Well go on then [Y/N], don't keep him waiting." She said.

Wasting no time, [Y/N] passed the seedpod she was working with over to her best friend. The little bird fluttered down onto her hand allowing her to unfold the paper as soon as her hands were free.

Tonight, the old Astronomy tower.

She folded the little slip of paper then stored it in her pocket. Despite trying her best to keep her excitement from showing Padma still gave her an exasperated look.

"You know you can't keep this up, right?" Padma asked,

"We'll be fine." [Y/N] said, focusing her attention back on the seedpods.

"The summer holiday is coming, just how do the two of you expect to make it work?"

"We haven't really talked about it but we'll at least see each other at the World Cup." [Y/N] answered, unwilling to meet her friend's eyes in fear that her worries would be revealed.

Padma sighed and shook her head then fixed [Y/N] with a concerned look. They had similar conversations since the very beginning, those concerns even being shared by Padma's sister Parvati. Neither of her friends were thrilled with the situation she had found herself in but in her eyes it was worth it. He was worth it.

"Just be careful." Padma warned.

"You worry too much." [Y/N] said, forcing a laugh that caused her drop one of the seeds.

Whatever was left to be said was quickly put to a stop as flowers bloomed everywhere. Professor Sprout was clearly displeased, so much so that she had taken a point from Ravenclaw. As she struggled to navigate around the flowers, she could just make out the sound of familiar laughter through the jeers from the Slytherins.

Throughout the remainder of the day [Y/N] found it difficult to focus on any of her classes. She was too focused on her daydreams and drinking in her excitement for the coming night. Every now and again her thoughts would drift off into wonders of when things wouldn't have to be a secret anymore and they wouldn't have to sneak around the castle. Those thoughts would quickly be pushed away to join the summer holiday where she wouldn't allow herself to worry about them and before she knew it, it was time.

"It took you long enough."

"Don't be like that Draco." [Y/N] sighed as she closed the door behind her, "It isn't like traveling through the castle like this is easy."

"I thought Ravenclaw's were supposed to be the smart ones." He taunted, leaving his spot by the window to join her by the door.

"Watch yourself." She warmed but was unable to hold back a smile as he pulled her into his warm embrace.

How had melting into him turned out to be so easy? When had she allowed herself to become intoxicated by his scent? When had her innocent crush turned into such intense feelings?

"You have that look again." He said, breaking the silence and their hug.

"What look?"

"That look that says you're thinking too much."
