saving the world again

good bye indiana hello derry maine

today was the day was leaving my hometown and the party .

i woke up today quite sad knowing i was going to be leaving my friends i have known for 10 years .when i sat up on my uncomfortable air mattress i noticed my usual polaroid picture covered wall and the big long mirror with the drawings and the fairy lights neatly draped around it was gone ,instead plain white walls and full cardboard boxes replace them i felt a sting in my eyes from my tears threatening to spill "no Isla not right now you've promised your self not to let the tears spill until your out of town" i muttered to myself . Once i had packet away my air mattress and got dressed i slowly made my way down stairs and into my dining room. Their sitting at the table was my family . My 6 year old brother Joseph looking so happy was already eating my Mums soft fluffy looking pancakes ! my mum on the other hand looked almost guilty ?

"mum whats the matter are you ok ?!" i asked my voice laced with concern while taking a seat she looked up at me with sadness in her eyes

" Isla sweetie i need to talk to you about something " she sighed

"yeah sure mum but can it wait until later because i am going to watch that new movie day of the dead with mike and everyone else an: lets pretend that summer hasn't started yet " i smiled hopefully at her since we wont be moving until lunch time tomorrow so whats the big deal

"Isla" she started i feel like she is giving me some bad news right now " we need to leave now otherwise the house won't be ours and i am very sorry to tell you this but you won't have time to say goodbye to your friends " she says great

hearing my mum say this made my heart sink to the pit of my stomach

"oh okay" is all i could manage to spit out

All i could think about was my best friend will and how he will think about me leaving without saying good bye he is going to think i am a terrible friend . I have known the Byers family for a long time now because both mine and his mum have been best friends since high school.

will was the one who introduced me to Mike Wheeler and then mike made a small group and named it the party i know strange name right but it included one of my other best friends Lucas Sinclair and then Dustin joined a bit later, we wold do everything together but everything went down hill when will went missing for a week (in a different world called the upside down i know how crazy is that) but a good thing that happened during that time i met El and then max a little less than a year later so i was no longer the only girl in the group :)

Once every thing was packed i stepped into my mums clean car once we past the sign reading "leaving Hawkins come again soon" tears started to spill rapidly down my face i slowly drifted of to thinking of all good memories and bad ......

a few hours later ......

i woke up realising i was still in the car my mum had just told me had just arrived in derry when i looked out the window i saw a small boy who was about six in a bright yellow rain coat playing in the rain ; i laughed to myself thinking back to when i used to do just that .

about 10 minutes later or so, we arrived welp i guess this is your new life now and i better get used to it i thought to myself... at least nobody will be getting possessed by non human like creatures or children just randomly going missing

or so i thought ...
