as someone who's dealt with people abusing me mentally my whole life, I always get the lingering anxiety of them considering me ungrateful. because.. well they bought me things. treated me with food. special goodies. I realize that this doesn't matter anymore. I don't have to say thank you to them. they don't deserve it after what they have done to me.
