Winter Adams. A seemingly normal woman, currently spending her last dimes on law enforcement school. Everything in her life was finally starting to fall into place. And after a messy breakup with her cheating boyfriend, Noah, she couldn't possibly feel more free. Except for maybe right now.

"Goodness Loren, I can't believe it! I can't believe we're finally doing it!" Winter squealed out of excitement. Winter and her best friend, Loren, were currently on their biggest adventure yet. Stonehenge. A monument located in Wiltshire, England. The girls had never left the United States before and from their view, England was a whole new world.

Stonehenge had always been a wonder to Winter. She had dreamed about visiting so many times, but was never able to go until now. Though she was never entirely sure why she loved it. Perhaps the mystery of it all. Perhaps the interesting way the stones lay about. Or maybe it was just because of the adventure that came with it. Traveling to a new and exciting place.

Loren loved adventure as well. And there was no way she would let her best friend go on one all by herself. After all, Winter was supposed to go on this trip with her ex-boyfriend. But Loren came to her rescue and wouldn't take no for an answer. At least that's how Loren remembered it.

The two of them could hardly contain their excitement during the long drive to their destination. Every time the girls made eye contact they couldn't help but squeal with excitement, causing the cab driver to scowl at them through the rearview mirror. But in between their bouts of anticipation, they were silently staring out the windows. Taking in every ounce of England that was available to them.

After about an hour of driving the excitement started to wear down, which was a relief to the man driving the cab. "So what do you think it will be like?" Loren asked with hopeful eyes. The cab driver rolled his eyes.

"I think it will be a magical place. Full of wonder and mystery and adventure," answered Winter with a dreamy look about her. It did, after all, feel like a dream to her. Since childhood, seeing this place had been at the top of her bucket list. Of course, her mother never approved. "It's best you get your head out of the clouds and start being practical, young lady!" she would say. But Winter never listened. She knew in her heart that she would see it one day, for her it was never a question. However, she never thought it would be at the young age of 22.

"Excuse me sir, do you know how much longer it will be?" Winter asked the man politely.

"Shouldn't be more than 10 minutes now, miss." He responded gruffly. Winter anxiously awaited their arrival with butterflies in her stomach all aflutter. This would be the beginning of a great adventure.
