Chapter 2 - First Day

Y/N's POV

     You took a deep breath, processing your new surroundings as the third years gave you a tour of the school. To your left was Daichi and to your right was Asahi. Suga was walking ahead, and he looked to be glowing due to his silver locks reflecting rays of light that snuck in through the windows. 

"And this is where the second year classes are," Daichi said snapping you out of your thoughts. 

"Cool," you replied quickly, ignoring the fact that you had been staring at Sugawara. "I think you guys mentioned that Tanaka and uh... Nishinoya were second years right?" 

Asahi nodded, "Yep." 

"We also have some other second years on the team, but they were already in their classes when you and Kageyama ran into us," Suga added on. 

     You nodded, liking the sound of his voice as he spoke. You were already quite fond of him. Whether it was the silver hair or the beauty mark next to his warm brown eyes, you felt drawn to him somehow. He was just so approachable. 

     Suddenly a slight burn flared up on your left wrist and you flinched ever so slightly. Woah... you thought, rubbing your thumb against where the pain was coming from. That's new...

     Nowadays, it was common to experience small burning or tingling sensations from soulmate marks when they first appeared, but if they began to sting again, people claimed it was because you and your soulmate were either near each other or were thinking about each other at the same time. This has never happened to me before...

"Uh hey, you okay there?" Daichi asked, noticing your silence. 

You hid your wrist behind your back, "I'm fine don't worry. I just thought I felt my marks burning that's all..." 

He shared a look with Asahi. 

"Have you not found your soulmate yet?" the ace asked. 

You blushed and shook your head, "I haven't yet but it's totally fine! I think we should get going to class now though... I'd hate to be late on my first day..."

     Feeling uncomfortable under their gaze, you quickly spun on your heel and began walking up the flight of stairs behind you. What if my soulmate was one of them?! We've only just met... and I'd hate to make things awkward with stuff like this... 

"Wait Kageyama-san!" 

You turned around to see Suga, "Y-Yes?" 

"Our class is over here," the silver haired teen replied with an adorable smile. 

"Right I knew that!" you blurted as your face flushed an even darker red. 

Sugawara's POV

I'm positive I also just felt a stinging sensation coming from the flower I drew earlier... Sugawara thought as he walked along side you, Daichi, and Asahi. 

    He quickly looked in your direction, watching to see if you'd react again. For a moment he really believed that you could be his soulmate, but now he wasn't too sure. Maybe I'm just imagining it...

"Here's my class," Asahi stated, "I'll see you guys at lunch later."

     The three of you waved goodbye and continued onwards farther down the hallway. Should I draw something else and see if it appears on her hand? No... that kind of feels like cheating in a way... 

"Oh hey Michimiya!" Daichi exclaimed as his soulmate poked her head out of a doorway. 

"Hey Daichi!" she responded, beaming brightly. 

     Sugawara greeted her and offered a smile. He was happy his best friend had ended up with an amazing and dependable person. 

"Suga I'll catch up to you guys in a bit okay?" Daichi whispered to him.

The setter nodded, "Of course. See you soon!" 

     At the thought of being alone with you his heart rate spiked. Stop it... he mentally scolded himself. You just met her. How can you already be catching feelings?!

"Ssooo..." you began, abruptly drawing him back to reality, "what's my brother like on the volleyball team? Is he an absolute prick or-" 

"No no, Kageyama's great actually!"

You let out a small sigh of relief, "That's good to hear." 

A small beat of awkward silence occurred before he spoke, "You must really care about your brother to suddenly transfer schools two months in during your third year." 

"Yeah I guess so," you replied smiling a little. "I've just been worried about him ever since I graduated from Kitagawa. I'm sure you probably know this by now, but he's not exactly the greatest when it comes to making friends." 

Sugawara laughed, "He's in good hands don't worry." 

Once again the conversation seemed to die again.

"Uh... what about you?" he asked, hoping to fill the void once more, "I mean I know you have Oikawa and Iwaizumi, but do you have any other friends?" 

You gave him a funny look.

"S-Sorry if that sounded rude!" he stammered as his face turned red. "I-I just meant like if you knew anyone else here or-" 

He stopped rambling when he heard the sound of you giggling. 

"I have you, Daichi, and Asahi now don't I?" you replied with a gentle smile, making him blush even harder. "Plus... I also have friends on my volleyball team." 

"You play volleyball too?" 

You nodded, "I play for Japan's National Youth Women's Team." 

His jaw dropped, "Woah really?! You must be really good then! What position do you play?"

"I'm a setter like my brother. And you?" 

"Also a setter." 

You gasped, "We can be setter buddies!"

"Aw come on," he said nonchalantly, "don't you think that title is reserved for your brother or Oikawa or something?" 

You pretended to think for a moment, "Hmmmm nah... I'd rather have you." 

     The silver haired teen blushed again at your choice of words as the mark on his wrist flared up slightly once more. There it is again...

     Tearing his attention away from the daisy, he looked to see if you had a similar reaction but... nothing. This is going to drive me crazy!

"Well... this is our class," Sugawara said stopping in front of a door. 

You frowned as you gazed into the room, "I hope it's not going to be boring." 

"Me too."  

Although I doubt I'd be able to pay attention with you so close by...

Author's Note: Okay so I definitely felt like something was way off with my writing style in some ways, but I'm really going to try to improve! Also sorry about constantly updating and publishing this. I made a ton of last minute edits.
