Crisp air fills my lungues

Leaves crackle beneath my feet

I dance beneath the soon to be barren trees

A burst of air, chilling and refreshing

Little orange and brown pixies swirl

I go inside to get a rake

Every golden treasure swept into a pile

I step back as if to admire my work

JUMP

My belly makes contact with the crunchy leaves

Giggles erupt as my cat bravely stalks the strays

He jumps onto my chest, his fur filled with little brown flecks

We lay there and stare up at the stars

The bell rings and the smell of pumpkin pie wafts to my nose

Jack-o-lanterns guard our porch from evil

My cat rushes in, covered in scraps of leaves

Coats are hung to dry beside the fire

I sit and enjoy the fruits of this wonderful season
