A reader.
That is what I would normally describe myself as. I would read through books without a care in the world. No matter how boring or how thick the book was, I was always immersed within the world through the pages of an open book.
It had always been like that, and I didn't plan to change it.
Since it was the weekends, I planned on going to the library so I got up from my bed to change, but before that...
"Ouch!"
I needed to treat the inflicted wounds on my body first. I went to the bathroom to get the first-aid kit and quickly came back to sit on my bed and treat my wounds.
As I cleaned my wounds, I thought about everything that has happened to me. All weren't really praiseworthy as they were just bad memories of the past. Just thinking about those things made me panic.
'Stop!' I thought in my head and tried to calm myself down a bit. Once I did calm down a bit, I started to bandage myself.
While I was wrapping the wounds, I realized that the reason I was able to cope from all of that was because of the library I would usually visit. It was the only place where I could free myself from everything.
'If it wasn't because of that, then I wonder what would've happened to me.' I thought to myself as I finished bandaging my wound. Then I quickly changed my clothes, put some shoes on, then headed out the front door. Once I was out, I shut the door and locked it with my keys.
The walk to the library was a 10-15 minute walk, so it wasn't long until I reached the library. I opened the door of the library and saw the familiar sight that I'd usually see see whenever I visited.
After looking at the library some more, I finally went to the librarian, who was a nice old man that would always recommended books to me. The books he'd recommend were thick, but they were the ones that once you patiently read it, you would come to like it.
He was the only one I could really get along with and wasn't the type to judge people base on rumours and such.
"Hello, Choi-ahjusshi!" I greeted the old librarian, who looked up at the noise. Once he saw me, he smiled.
"Hello Kim Dokja-ah, are you here for another book?" He asked.
"Yes, I would like you're recommendation as per usual." I said with a smile on my face.
"Since you'd usually read the same genre of books, how about a change for once? Since teens your age seem to like it, you should try romance books." He said with a smile.
'Hmm, it is true that I've been reading the same genre books. I would be nice for a change, but romance is a little...'
Choi-ahjusshi saw the scrunched look in my face and said,
"Just try reading it and if you don't like it, you can return it and get another one."
'Well, it wouldn't hurt to try.'
"Alright then."
"That's the spirit! Here, choose from these books." He said and placed several books in front of me.
As I read the titles of each books, none had particularly stood out to me. When just as I was about to give up searching, Choi-ahjusshi put an thick black book in front of me.
"Choi-ahjusshi, what's this?" I said as I took the black book to look at it up close. It was really heavy and upon a closer look, it was old and really worn out. At the front of the book, there was font of gold cursive letters that read,
