"Today is a bright and sunny day. Days like these are when you can reach for the stars.
Welcome to Desert Bluffs. (Desert Bluffs theme)
Good morning Desert Bluffs, unfortunately I am away today. Fortunately, I can still host with my Strexcorp mobile radio set. Right now, I am driving through the beautiful bluffs that border our wonderful city. You may be thinking, "Why would Kevin be leaving our great city? Why would he do such a thing?" Well, it's not as bad as it sounds, I've been assigned to spread the word of our smiling god around the area. Isn't that great? And you may be surprised agian, "How do they not know about the smiling god?" Well sometimes life just works that way. Luckily, we in Desert Bluffs have been blessed with a vision of our holy lord and we can now spread that message to our surrounding lands. Anyways, Vanessa will be working as my co-anchor and will now report traffic and weather. Now to you Vanessa,"
"Today is a somber and overcast day. Days like these are when fates are decided. When kings and queens will triumph or fall victim to other's grasp. In an elegant flash of red and gold our king will fall.
Welcome to Night Vale. (Night Vale theme)
It's high noon in Night Vale, the mayor has just announced new safety precautions, "The new flower of the day is a dandelion. Whenever left on your porch by the sheriff's secret police, it will be safe to come outside. If you see a carnation, it now means close your doors and hide in the closet." However much protection that thin, brittle, piece of wood meant for storing objects, offers is debatable. Traffic in all directions is non-existent as usual, there also appears to be a floating bright red bicycle on Main Street. Old lady Josie reports that it looks like a ghost, hovering over that one spot on Main Street. She also just told Dana a new "angel prophecy" on Facebook. Dana is translating the runes in the message now. Thanks, Dana. The message prophecies there will be a new visitor in town. Well, whoever it is, I advise you to lock your doors tonight."
Journey Log 1: "Good afternoon Desert Bluffs, this is Kevin. Vanessa and I decided to start a journey log. This is mostly so I can send my radio reports in a more efficient fashion. Nice thinking Vanessa! My first destination on the map is the small town of Night Vale. As of right now, I am driving down the desert road in my new Strexcorp van. Oh did I forget to tell you? This state of the art van is fitted with all of the things I need for my trip, some pamphlets, camping supplies, toys for the town kids, and of course, my trusty smiling god bible. Tonight, I think I'll camp right in the middle of the town I'm visiting and tell stories to the town kids. It should be lots of fun! Accept there's one thing I'm nervous about. This is my first camping trip and my first time out of Desert Bluffs. Does anyone have advice for me? Please send it to me, by messaging Vanessa on the Journey out of Desert Bluffs twitter feed. Until we meet again, Desert Bluffs."
Journey Log 2: "Hello Desert Bluffs, I just had a most interesting encounter. On the edges of Nightvale, I met an employee of their quaint little radio station, Welcome to Night Vale. It was an honor to meet a fellow reporter, but there was one thing wrong with her interview. Warning, I advise all parents to cover their children's ears. She wasn't smiling! Can you believe it, Desert Bluffs? I knew our neighbors to the north were different, but not smiling, oh the horror. All I could do was finish her interview and give her one of my smiling god pamphlets. After doing so, I drove away as quickly as possible. I truly wish that woman turns her life around."
"Oh god the horror, it appears we are receiving a visitor from the South, Night Vale. It was first spotted in the afternoon, driving past the town border. One of our interns, Eliza, bless her soul, approached the unidentified vehicle with a camera and microphone. After she was finished asking questions she was killed by the driver. Fortunately, she was able to take a picture of the vehicle before dying. Carlos, with his dreamy hair and defining features, is investigating the picture. I wish Carlos were here, not just in the town but in this room. Oh, what a guest he would make on the show, with that caramel voice and his speeches... My god! Dana just handed me a picture of that unidentified vehicle. It's painted a ghostly white with a devilish smile on its grill. Nooo, that smile... that smile reminds me of the picture in that radio studio, that wicked thing. If I think I know who is driving that vehicle, it better not be them. And the weapons on that vehicle, knives, axes, and swords, all freshly sharpened. There's even a flamethrower. Night Vale, I implore all of you to lock your doors tonight. Whatever evil thing that is driving that vehicle, I think it will be the bane of us all."
Journey Log 3: "Morning Desert Bluffs. For me, it is night time, but this message will hopefully broadcast tomorrow. Tonight, I am about to enter the town of Night Vale. I'm so excited! Who knows who I could meet! Maybe that other version of me is the host of this radio studio! Maybe the other version of me is mayor! Wish me luck Desert Bluffs, and until we meet again."
