"There's this new restaurant that was just built. The building itself is quite tall and offers a beautiful view to the guests." He said.
"Wait, you mean Rossi-?" I paused. I had seen previews of the menu there a few weeks back on the news, and this new restaurant was nothing short of over-the-top expensive. There was absolutely no way I would be able to pay for dinner.
"Mr. Han?" I winced at what I was about to tell him.
"Yes, (y/n)? Is there an issue?" He asked.
"Well, would we possibly be able to seek some place else to eat? I heard that Rossi is quite expensive and I'm on a bit of a budget.." I cowered, hiding my embarrassed face under my fringe.
Jumin giggled. "It's rude to underestimate my financial standing, (y/n). I would never allow the woman to pay, especially since *I* was the one who invited you out." He was obviously being sarcastic with the first part, but I still felt sort of bad.
"I-I'm sorry, Mr. Han. I don't want to be a burden." I muttered.
"(y/n), you may call me Jumin. You are not my assistant, so there is no need to be so formal." I blushed. *Great, he thinks of me as an equal. I already feel a little better about where I stand with him.*
After clearing my head a little, I noticed a little black briefcase held in Jumin's right hand.
"Mr. Ha- I mean, Jumin— if I may ask- what is in that briefcase that you are holding?" I asked shyly.
He looked down at the case in his hand and he suddenly has a bit of a panicked look, but nothing too noticeable.
"Oh, just a few items from work, it's nothing of your concern."
He said bluntly. *Alright, that was sort of rude, but okay.*
He quickly changed the subject to our reservation and we swiftly moved down the hall of my apartment building. Watching him walk was just making my legs a little weak, but I had to keep moving. We made it outside, where a rather large limousine sat in front of the outdoor fountain. I paused.
*Oh no— he isn't driving? So I won't be able to wipe the eyeshadow off of my cheek!* I started to try and figure out a way to remove it without him noticing, but by the time I came back down to earth from the inside of my head, we were somehow already in the limousine. I moved quickly to hide my face towards the door and dig in my purse for that makeup wipe I stuffed in earlier.
"(Y/n? Is everything alright?" Jumin asked. My back stiffened and my eyes widened. He was on to me. Out of nowhere, I felt a large hand grip my shoulder gently, and turn me around to face the man behind me. My fringe was no longer able to hide the mark on my face. My eyes shot closed and my hands covered my face. *Oh, god! What the hell can I do now? I can't just turn back arou-*
"(y/n).." Jumin said, as he moved my hands from my face. I just let it happen, I couldn't resist— it would be rude.
"You have a brow-" suddenly, he went speechless. He had that same embarrassed-surprised look on his face, the same one as when he found out I was not, in fact, the little sister. I slowly opened my eyes to see this look on his face, and it just got even more intense. As soon as he realized he has been staring at me, he shook and snapped out of it, a little flustered. He quickly fixed himself to sound and look like the same cold Jumin he sounded like over the messenger app.
"(Y-y/n), you have a brown mark on your cheek," he said.
"I know, I was trying to hide it from you so I could wipe it off, since I didn't have time back in my room," I explained.
I went on and on about how I was just trying to hind my face, and my eyes wandered to the left, out the window at the fountain that sprayed water beautifully over the mountain of rocks it was set upon. It wasn't long before I felt the same hand as before on me,
This time on my cheek. his thumb was gently moving, taking in the feeling of my delicate skin. Jumin gave a warm smile, and took out his handkerchief, removing his thumb and replacing it with the napkin as it slowly started to wipe away the spot I failed to get rid of.
"You could have asked for more time to get ready, (y/n). Are you usually this clumsy?"
"I- no no, I was just rushing a little, it's no big deal." We both sat there as Jumin finished wiping away the spot on my cheek. Once he finished, he didn't immediately remove his hand from my cheek. We just sat there, looking into each others eyes, studying one another. I was the first one to break, as I turned away and because a blushing mess.
"Driver, I believe that we are ready to leave now." And with that, we were off. Driving down the busy street, sitting in silence, since neither of us knew what to do or say. Just sitting,
Waiting.
But I wish it could last forever.
