Chapter 2: Mystery Unfold

"You think so? Don't worry I'll tale that as an advise. I gotta go Mike. Thanks for the coffee." I kissed him on the cheek and bid goodbye. It's a good feeling that whatever happened in the past, we're now okay.

I reached Anna's place. I stepped on the front door and knocked.

"Anna, Anna. It's Kat." I called out.

"In a minute!" She yelled. I heard her footsteps towards the door. She opened it.

"Hey Kat. Thanks for coming by. Come on in. I've prepared food." She invited me in and I followed her inside. It's almost noon. I didn't notice that I haven't eaten since morning.

"Wow, new hairstyle. Looks perfect on you." She complimented my hair. She walked to the  kitchen and got plates and everything.

"Well, thank you Anna. I thought I'd change a bit coz you two had changed your looks." I grinned.

"Yeah. It's because you bailed on us. Hey, you still have a lot of explaining to do. But have you called Van?" She sat down and served my plate and hers.

"Yeah I know. I called her first thing in the morning and said she's still recovering from what happened yesterday. Where's your mom?" I asked her before taking a bite from my food.

"She's out. I feel sorry for Van. She was really in shock you know. I was afraid too. I still can remember that girl's face. Poor thing." She replied.

"Yes Sheriff. I'll deliver it to you tomorrow. Okay. Bye." I was talking to sheriff Gordon on the phone. She was asking me to deliver another box of vervain. I went to the basement to pack it then suddenly there is a cold wind passed my back.

"Hello, Dwayne is that you?" I called out but no one answered.

Another wind has passed at my side.

"Hey this isn't a good joke Dwayne." I'm getting scared.

Another cold wind has passed my back, and now it's closer.

"Hey cut it out!" I yelled. Then someone stopped behind me.

"Harry, is it?" A guy asked me. I turned to see who it was but he knocked me out.

"What happened here?" Asked sheriff Gordon. He's at the grill. Someone reported that there's a dead body in tha trash.

"I, I, I went o-out to throw the garbage w-w-when I noticed there's hair hanging from the side. W-w-when I opened it, I I I was shocked to see that... dead boy there..." Explained the grill's staff. She is so much frightened. She's shaking and hardly speaking.

"Didn't anyone noticed someone suspicious here?" Asked the sheriff. Everybody said none. This looks bad. Before he went at the grill, he came from other places and the same incident happened.  A person dead, drained of blood. And all of those has bite marks on the neck. She knows the probable killer: a vampire. She head out to the mayor's office.

"I'm very sure of it Mrs. Lucas. Every evidence leads to it." Explained sheriff Gordon.

"If it really is, they're back. Those monsters are back. We should take highly precautions. I can't risk the townspeople. How many do you think they are?" Mayor Lucas is getting worried. She stood up and leaned on the window.

"I think there's many. There were 5 persons reported missing and  10 reported dead bodies in 2 days, what would you think? It will be very dangerous so we must watch out and plan our moves." Sheriff Gordon said, showing all the photos of the victims.
