“The first part of it, yeah I did.”

“So you ready for your lunch now?”

“Hold on.” I said as I pulled the phone off the wall.

I dialed Ellanae’s number and she picked up on the second ring.

“No Xavi! Take that leaf out your mouth—hello?”

“Hey Ellanae?”

“Xavier Perez. Hey Latimore? Hold on for a quick sec, okay?”

“Sure.” I chuckled.

“Jacob go and move that child from the plants please! The football came can pause.” I heard Ellanae say. “Alright, hello?”

“Yeah Ellanae, are you busy?”

“Well, Xavier is being a little more naughty than usual today but other than that, no.”

“Can you and Jacob come down here? I need to tell you guys something.”

“Is everything alright?”

“Just meet me here as soon as you can okay?”

“O-okay, we’re on our way.”

I hung the phone up and turned around to see Jasleen looking at me.

“Everything okay?”

“Everything’s fine, lunch?”

“Sure.” She smiled, walking over to me so she could roll me out the room.

“I hope my lunch isn’t cold.” I said.

I heard her chuckling behind me.

“So, who’s Ellanae?”

I think I heard some jealously dripping from Jasleen’s mouth.

Maybe I should test this out.

I looked behind me and right at her.

“My girlfriend.”

Jasleen’s jaw tightened, but she softened her face and put a fake smile on.

“I thought you didn’t have one, I thought she passed away.”

“Well, Ellanae’s helped mend everything up you know? She helps out a lot and is there whenever I need her.”

Jasleen came to a quick stop, which almost caused me to fall out my chair.

“We’re here.”

“Really?” I smiled, enjoying her reaction.

“Yup. There you go. Anything else?” she asked in a monotone voice.

“No, that’s all.”

She helped me slide into the seat and I stared at her with a huge smile on my face.

“Can I tell you something?” I asked, looking at her grumpy face.

“What.”

“I’m joking.”

“What?” She asked as her face began to turn red.

“Since Jasmine died I’ve been single as a pringle.”

“Oh.” She smiled, turning redder.

She does have a crush on me.

“I’ll um, check back with you later.”

“Byeee Jasleen.”

“Bye.” She smiled as she began to walk away.

In the process she tripped over one of the chair legs, but tried to act it off, still waving at me.
