Friday Night, 7 PM

Juliet POV

I remember around 5 or 6 years ago, I was like 9 or 10 years old. My older sister Izzy asked me to describe my dream guy. I said long, flowy blonde hair, sparkling blue eyes that you get lost in, someone that will make me laugh endlessly, and a super kind personality. And that they'd be hot of course.

What she didn't know, was that I was describing my dream girl. Little did I know, I would meet her a few years after. She was standing right in front of me. Well, she was laying on the bed that was next to me.

We were at a soccer tournament for Memorial Day. It was Friday night and we were staying at a hotel until Tuesday morning. We were happy because it meant we could miss a day of school. This tournament was somewhere near a beach in California.

We are from New England, so we decided to do something to stay awake. After all, it was 10 pm back home where we live, and after a long flight we were pretty tired.

"You ready Molls?" I ask her.

"For what?" She asks with kind of a groggy voice.

"Awww, you tired?"

"Yeah, isn't it time for bed?" She asks me.

"C'mon lazy bones. The water slide closes in an hour. Then Sofia S. and Grace and other Sofia (Sofia A.) and Maeve and Alex want us to meet them on the beach for the fireworks at 9. You ok?" I ask her. At this point, we've flirted with each other for long enough and I sometimes treated her like I was already dating her. God, I wish I was.

"Help me up," she complains.

"Hang on," I say. Around 30 seconds later, I come back. "Here's your swimsuit. Your mom told me to tell you to answer her text. Oh, and my watch just went off. It's time for you to take your allergy pill."

"Thanks mom," she says with an eye roll.

"You know I love you," I say with a big fake grin.

"Ugh, just help me up please. I'm too lazy to get up," she says.

"Ok," I sigh. I pick her up like a baby and carry her into the bathroom. "I'll be waiting so hurry up," I tell her. It was weird, we didn't have a chaperone or a parent with us. That was the first time that had happened. Come to think of it, no one had a chaperone. That's not good, because we could get pretty crazy sometimes.

She walks out of the bathroom, and I tried as hard as I could to contain myself, but I had to say something. She looked like a goddess, in her little bright blue bikini. She was like half a foot shorter than me. "Shortie, nice swimsuit. C'mon, Sofia S. and Grace are waiting outside."

"You look good to. Well, about as good as you always do," she chuckled.

"Shut up, hurry up." I grab her by the hand a drag her out the door.

"Ooooooh! Are you guys finally dating?" Sofia S. asks. I immediately let go of her hand. I see her and Grace sitting on the bench outside. Sofia was doing something on her watch and Grace was texting someone. Sofia S. is my best friend on the team and is the only one that knows about my huge crush on Molly. Sofia and I are a duo and Grace and Molly are.

"Shut up," I whisper. Molly just rolls her eyes. To try to turn the attention away from us, I ask Grace a question. "Grace, who you texting?"

"Emily," she says, her eyes never coming off the phone for a second. Emily is Grace's girlfriend that she's been dating for almost a year now.

"Emily! I wanna say hi!" Molly and I say in sync. Molly and I absolutely LOVE Emily. She's literally the funniest person ever and when we told Grace we approved of her. We are very skeptical of everybody's girlfriends and boyfriends, but we all like Emily.

Molly's birthday is Wednesday and Grace's is Sunday.

"Bruh, if you want to say hi, text her yourself or something," Sofia said.

"Grace are you ok?" Molly asks her. Grace looked sad and Molly was just insanely caring. I just loved her so much.

"I'm fine," Grace said reluctantly.

"She's sad because she can't see Emily on her birthday," Sofia says with a wink. Molly sat down on the colorful bench that they were sitting on. Grace's eyes still hadn't moved up from her phone. Molly gave her a big hug. Selfishly, I wish I was Grace, just so I could get a hug from her. Usually, the only hugs I ever got were in the rare occasions that I scored a goal and we were celebrating.

"C'mon Grace," Molly says.

"Please, let me just talk to her for a few more minutes," Grace says.

"How about if we call her on the way down," I suggest.

"You just want to say hi to her," Grace says with an eye roll. I pretend to look offended, and they all just give me the eyeroll I get so often.

"I'll give you a piggyback if you come," I tell her.

"I'm in," Grace says. She climbs on my back and we run after Sofia and Molly who are probably plotting something against me.
