Pain. He should be used to this by now but every single time he went over. The fire in his veins was normal. So was the blinding white that he could see around him. The fog, the pain, the white light was all welcomed like an old friend. However the one thing he never wanted to feel again, see again and hear again was the laughter. his friends were laughing. Laughing at his pain, at his suffering, at something he had no control over. Wasn’t friends meant to help? Try to comfort you? He didn’t know, not like they would do anything but laugh anyway. They always found it so funny. How would they like to feel the pain, hear the laughter, float in a fog with no control that cane with his quirk. He hated it. He wanted to blink, he wanted to scream, he wanted it all to end. But as Denki had learned you could not always get what you wanted.

Denki blinked. He could see again, talk again, smile again, hear something other then that goddamn laughter he hated so much. The pain, however, was still there. Throbbing in the back of his mind. Always there. Always waiting. Reminding him he can never escape. And Denki waited too. Waited to great the pain. The fog. The light. Though he would always dread the laughter. It made him itch to do something. Anything. To make it stop. Just to eliminate it from the earth. He hated the sound of laughter. Even when people are joking around or happy. He hated it. Wanted to wipe the smiles off their faces. He never did though. He didn’t want to hurt his friends, his family. Denki knew the urge would never leave and he knew. That one day he would snap. That day, however, was not today. So Denki put these thoughts under tight lock and key in the dark abyss of his mind, smiled up at recovery girl and went on his way.
