Your POV

I shoved my books into my locker and got out my phone. Finally the day was over. I tell you that last English lesson felt like it was never going to end. I closed my locker door and jumped suddenly when I saw my best friend right behind it.

"Holy- geese Henry you scared the crap out of me." I sighed and laughed a little. Henry laughed in response.

"Sorry." He apologises half heartedly, "It's not my fault you jump at every little thing." I playfully glared at him.

"Don't judge me. I'm paranoid."

"Yeah we know." A voice spoke from behind me and I yelped before quickly turning around and putting up my arms in a defencive position.

"Charlotte!" I scolded. She and Henry just laughed at me.

"Point proven." Then said in unison.

"Oh piss off." I grumbled, "Anyway, are you guys free this afternoon?"

"Sorry. I have work." Henry gave me a thin lipped smile.

"Same." Charlotte added.

"Boo." I pouted, "Shouldn't it like illegal for you guys to have work like every day?" I asked, "We literally never hang out anymore and it sucks."

"I know. Sorry y/n. But I mean, I might be free this weekend and we can catch a movie or something?" Henry suggested.

"Really?" I asked excitedly.

"Yeah. I mean I don't think we have work on Saturday do we?" Henry looked at Charlotte.

"Well... We can't be sure..." she trailed off.

"I don't get it. Don't you guys have like a time table or something that says when you have shifts....?" I questioned.

"Well-" Henry started

"Uh, yeah-" Charlotte continued.

"It's just that-"

"Ya know.... sometimes we.... get surprise shifts." Charlotte finally answered.

"Yeah! Surprise shifts!" Henry gestured to her.

"Right..." I nodded after a small awkward silence, "Well anyway I'll see you guys tomorrow." I soluted them and walked away.

"Wait wait!" I heard Henry call after me as he came running up beside me, "I'll walk you home. I mean we live on the same street." He smiled.

"Don't you have work?" I asked confused.

"Uh yeah I do but it uh, my shift starts at 3:40, so ya know, I have a couple of minutes." He answered. I nodded in response as we walked together, "So... that algebra test sucked huh?" Henry laughed after a couple minutes of silence.

I smiled a little, "Nah. It wasn't too hard for me. I had like half an hour left after I finished the second page" I shrugged.

"What second page......?" Henry stopped walking.

"Dude it was double sided."

"WHAT!?" He yelled, "I didn't even finish the first page!" He hung his head back, "Why is my life such a struggle?" He whined.

I patted his shoulder, "I'm sure you'll be alright. I mean it's just one test right? So you can still do great in your other subjects." I tried to encourage, "Like you know, our history assignment is due tomorrow and we had three weeks to work on it. I can review it if you-"
