"What's it looking like up there, Iko?" Cinder called.
"Their converter is busted," the droid replied. Cinder dragged herself out from underneath the ship, her face smeared with dirt and grime from working all day.
"That explains it," she muttered. "Everything looks fine down here. Will you go dig through the spare parts?"
"On it," IK0 replied, rolling down the ramp.
Cinder stood up and dusted off her pants before stretching, the joints in her metal fingers clicking as they moved.
"Hello hello?" a voice called. "Is my ship ready?"
"Almost, Captain," Cinder replied.
"Mm," the man murmured. He was handsome, with perfectly styled hair and bright blue eyes, his hands resting in the pockets of his worn leather jacket. "Is there anything I can do to speed it up? I don't have any more credits-"
"It's almost done," Cinder said. "We just have to replace the converter, it will only take a minute. Iko?"
"Right here!" IK0 came barreling out of the storage room, dragging a used converter behind her.
"Excellent. Go ahead and get to work on it," Cinder said, before turning back to the man. "Give us just a moment and she'll be ready to go. Are you in a rush or something?"
"Well, if I told you that, it'd give away the mystery," he replied, leaning on a tool-covered table and sending a few knuts cascading onto the floor. Cinder quirked an eyebrow.
"All done!" IK0 chirped.
"Good work, Iko," Cinder smiled at the droid. "Well, it's going to be seven hundred for the converter."
"Seven hundred?" The man balked.
"If you can't pay, we can't give you your ship."
"Republic credits?"
"Republic credits."
The man sighed and reached into his pocket, pulling out a handful of credits and counting them.
"What about six fifty?" He asked. Cinder narrowed her eyes. He sighed once more, handing over seven hundred. The pieces clinked against Cinder's hand as she shuffled them around to count them.
"Perfect. Thank you. And- hey, is that.... Are you..."
"What?"
"Nothing. Nevermind. Let us know if you have any more issues with her," Cinder said, watching the man climb aboard his ship and finally take off, leaving an empty space in the messy warehouse.
