The heavy tan coat around my shoulders feels as if it's weighing me down, or maybe that's the guilt.  "Let's go, inmate, you're not the only person getting in the van, chop-chop!" The sharp voice of the guard beside me causes me to jump. "Oh sweetie, they're going to eat you alive in there," the woman's chuckle felt cocky and she gave me a push forward as we reached the van. Two women sat in the van already, one was small, with a khaki uniform and brunette curls. The other was glaring out the window, bright orange fabric hanging off her shoulders and her hair cut up above her ears. "Climb into the second row." I nod, sliding into the seat behind the second woman. This new angle allowed me to see part of her face, she looked young, probably twenty, maybe twenty-one.

"What are your names?" An Italian voice grabs my attention and I slide over in my seat to look up to the front, "We go by last names here. I'm Morello!" "Watson," the girl in front of me mumbles out, and the Italian smiles. "Well then it's nice to meet you, and what's your name sweetheart." "Washington," I smile back at her, folding my hands in my lap. "Oh, we have another Washington here," she pauses as if she had to think for a moment, "I guess we'll just have to call you White Washington like we do with White Cindy."  I scrunch up my eyebrows, "I would much rather be called Brielle."  Morello sighs, "Well I guess that works too." After her statement, she turned her eyes back to the magazine she has on the wheel in front of her.

A third woman climbs up into the van beside Watson. She was a blonde, she definitely cried before she got here and she looked scared. The guard said something to Morello about there being one more girl and then she turned around, heading back into the gray building.  Morello turned back to the new girl, introducing herself and then Watson and me. I tuned Morello and Chapman out as they begin talking about a wedding. Getting arrested is a total relationship killer, I don't know why you would try.

"You really think your man is still gonna be there when you get out?" Watson's words voice my thoughts.  Morello is upset from her words, it's obvious and I almost feel bad for thinking it. I guess my experience isn't everyone's. Maybe her fiance will still be around, even if my girl left.  A new girl was suddenly beside me. Blonde streaks framed her face but her expression was impossible to read. A guard slams the door before climbing into the passenger seat. "Hey," I whisper facing her and she turns to me. "Hi?" "I'm Brielle," I reach over, offering her my hand. "Daya," she grabs my hand with a smile, giving it a soft shake, "Wait you're not in for anything really dangerous are you?" I shake my head with a soft laugh, "I'm in after a plead deal on armed robbery, I had a really good lawyer and a really shitty ex." She chuckles slightly, "I'm in on drug charges, my mom's boyfriend was running a drug operation in our kitchen," She pauses, "I'm over-sharing again."

I shake my head, "It didn't bother me. You seem nervous." "You're not?" She looked at me like I was crazy and shrug, "I have a sister in here. I'm feeling guilty but  not scared that I'll be alone." "My mother is here, she kind of hates me."  I frown, "Hey, I've got your back now, don't worry." Daya gives me a soft smile and we then go quiet, watching as a new building comes into view. Minimum security, this place now feels more intimidating than the first time I came to visit. The van pulls to a stop and suddenly a chill rushes down my spine. Poussey is going to be so unhappy to see me. I promised when mom died that I would stay out of trouble, for her. P is going to kill me.

The sourpuss co who pushed me into the van before slides the door open. Chapman and Watson step ut first, both of them allowing their eyes to wander the area around them. Daya slides off the van next, me falling close behind as Morello walks around to our group. The bedding in my arms suddenly feels heavy as we begin to walk slowly into the building. Empty hallway walls are the first thing we were greeted with when we walked in.  Morello began to talk about how she would meet us later while leading us down a hall, explaining what was about to occur. I just want to see my sister, I need to apologize.
