Latch

There are two more weeks of school before the summer break. Prom is coming. Sadly, the year is almost over for Bokuto.

Akaashi looked out the window as he got lost in his thoughts. He thought to himself 'what would happen to him when Bokuto leaves?'. He couldn't even force in class, it was like he didn't want bokuto to leave.

"Ok, this will be the last meeting for us. As you know, your awesome captain is leaving." Bokuto announced to the team. "So next year's captain is gonna be, Akaashi." everyone applauded for Akaashi. "Well, this is gonna be our last meeting, so we should all relax and have fun," Bokuto said with the biggest smile he could make. Akaashi walked over to Bokuto to ask him a question.

"So, who are you going to prom with?" I said praying it's no one. "Oh, I have someone in mind. What about you" "Me? I'm not sure if I want to go." I said in a disappointing tone. 'I should've known someone asked Bokuto to prom' he said to myself. "What?! You have to come" "Why?" "Just come for me... please." Bokuto said pouting like a puppy. Akaashi couldn't resist the puppy eyes. "Alright" he sighed realizing what mess he had gotten himself into.

For the past few days, Akaashi couldn't quite get his finger on who Bokuto is taking to prom with.

Finally, the day has come... Prom night.

Akaashi arrived at the school, trying to find the sight of Bokuto. He walked inside the gym full of people dancing, chatting, eating, and drinking. The music was loud, the lights were flashing everywhere. The theme was under the stars. The decorations were amazing. As his eyes wander around the gym, he spotted Bokuto talking...to a girl. Akaashi looked at them. A sudden feeling had Akaashi think to himself.

'Was he jealous?'

Bokuto noticed Akaashi from across the gym. Akaashi ran out of the gym. Bokuto apologize to the girl and ran after Akaashi. He'd reached for Akasahi's hand.

"Akaashi, where are you going?"

"What do you think? I'm going home."

"But Why?"

Akaashi turned around to look at Bokuto with teary eyes. Bokuto was surprised to see the black-haired boy cry.

"Why don't you go back to your prom date, I bet she's missing you at this moment." Akaashi lowers his head and sobs. "She's not my prom date?" Bokuto said realizing the problem.

"What?" Akaashi put his head up and looked at Bokuto in the eyes.

"Then, Who was your date?"

"It was you..." Akaashi laughed. "W-What's so funny?" Bokuto said in confusion. "All this time I thought the world hated because I assume you didn't like me. I was terrified to tell you my feeling and by the time you leave, it would be too late."

Akaashi sighed "I'm such an idiot" " No, you're not. You are smart, talented, nice, cool, and--" Bokuto hesitated and blushed like he was on fire. "a-and that's what I love about you" Akaashi pulled Bokuto into a kiss. At first, Bokuto was surprised but then he wrapped his arms around Akaashi's hip. Akaashi pulled away "I love you too and I want to be with you till the end."

Bokuto cupped Akaashi's cheeks and gave him a quick peck on the lips.

"Ok" Pulling into another kiss.

The next starting fall,

"Did you get everything?" Akaashi said grabbing the rest of the luggage for Bokuto. "Yes babe, I got everything you don't have to worry I'll be fine" Bokuto said grabbing the luggage from Akaashi.

"Sorry, I'm just gonna miss you so much." "Well, that's all of my stuff. But I'm missing one more thing." Bokuto said walking over to Akaashi. "Oh my god did you leave your phone or your passport in the house?!"

"No, I have everything thanks to my amazing boyfriend" Bokuto said grabbing both of his partner's hands. "So this is goodbye..huh?" Akaashi said in a sad tone. "Don't worry when the break comes I'll come to visit" Bokuto said giving Akaashi a peck on his forehead.

"Promise?"

"Promise"

After they give their kisses and hugs, Bokuto was on his to the airport.

Akaashi watched as the taxi drove off, then suddenly his phone went off. He looks at the screen to see a text message.

Akaashi looked at the message and smiled.
