Jonathan Joestar and Dio Brando are bound tightly together by the string of fate. Wrapped around so tightly they have trouble breathing. Even if they have this inevitable attraction to each other, this doesn't mean they felt the same about each other. Jonathan was staring out the window of his room thinking about his relationship with Dio. As long Jonathan remembered, he always had a burning hatred for Dio. Even during those 7 years of a peaceful truce, his distrust was always a lingering step behind. Jojo truly wanted to just forget everything and get along with Dio. To tread the earth without such complications each morning, but his memory wouldn't allow him to. Although this feeling was always there, Jonathan still had genuine moments of cherished happiness with Dio. Times where he almost forgot his hatred; if only for a mere second, Dio was sincerely his brother. But these moments always ended with a cold rush of anxiety. Intrusive thoughts wondering if Dio would act up again or take away these moments abruptly. Jonathan just wanted everything to disperse during those 7 years of peace. Dio on the other hand, only had his attractions towards Jonathan become stronger. At first, his motives were to take the family fortune, and his jealousy towards Jonathan; to make his life living hell. Dio's jealousy towards Jonathan was simple, he thought that a snobby rich kid like Jonathan could never understand him. Oh, how young Dio was wrong. As years went by torturing Jonathan in every way possible, Dio uncovered sides of Jojo he didn't see before.
Jonathan was rich of course, but he had an unwavering amount of kindness and sincerity on levels that were just weren't possible. He was more naïve than a newborn baby. He radiated pureness, morals and shined more than the sun. At least in Dio's eyes. Jonathan blinded him at first, but slowly and surely, Dio started to embrace the warmth. Just Jonathan's aura comforted him. Disturbing to say the least.
Other than the reason being how Jonathan was so pure that Dio's emotions just changed, Dio's motives also shaped into something else. To put it in a simple manner, it went from just impulse aggression to stealing everything Jonathan had and finally to stealing Jonathan himself. Things had gotten simpler over time I suppose.
Now in present time; 19 year-old Dio comes to confront himself. " Should I drop the project of becoming the family heir? Or should I pursue the capture of Jojo's heart?" Dio definitely had no half-assed determination to go through with what he started, but now Dio has a much greater interest in Jonathan than just plain money. Jonathan is so much more than just money. Jonathan's carefully sculpted body with the perfect heart of gold would at least be worth a couple million human lives at best. He comes to a conclusion. He will pursue his love for Jojo.
The only problem now, is to deal with Jonathan. Dio knows that Jonathan doesn't fully trust him. Dio was always keen on observing people. Jojo might even have a few traumas from Dio. He doesn't think Jojo will ever forget about Danny's death and how Dio was suspiciously lurking around. He could see through Jonathan's fake smiles easily. Their bond was only so real but fake. Jonathan never knew that Dio could see him though. All this time talking about the young adults and how they felt about each other, while I haven't even mentioned the time. Might I have you know, it was well over their bedtime, and both boys were during their late-night pondering. So, Dio gave up thinking and thought that he might as well ponder over the plan the next morning with a clearer head.

Jonathan wakes up with almost no desire to stay in his covers at all. He had gotten a good night's rest and completely fueled up on energy. He shoved open the curtains and looked out. It was a beautiful day out. The sky clearer than anything Jonathan could have imagined, and the sun shone brightly on his face. Taking in all the warmth of the sun, Jonathan got ready to change. He always paid his mind to dress well for his Father. And he was sure Dio dressed in mind of that too. Jonathan was now reminded of his thoughts last night, but before he could rephrase anything, he stopped himself and distracted himself with thoughts of breakfast. Jonathan didn't want to feel so down on this glorious morning. He didn't want to deliberately ruin his great mood. He headed down to breakfast in high spirits until he saw Dio at the table. Father was there, as usual, asking if they had gotten a good night's sleep. Both responded with a simple yes but this isn't what he was focused on. Seeing Dio had poured all of his thoughts on him from yesterday night. So much for trying to stay in a good mood. "Good morning Dio," Jonathan mustered out.
