The lady in the blue summer dress and yellow heels leads me to the office of the school. She walks up to the front desk and rings a golden bell that sits on top of the counter. I scoff as I look around the place. Green and blue tiled walls? The beaver mascot flag hung up upon the wall to my left? The fact that I'm inside Green Lake high? It all makes my blood boil.
"Ah, Melinda hello, and I presume you are Abby Reese." A lady who comes from behind the counter, with dark brown frizzy hair, and thin pink glasses says in a nasally voice. She bends down and pulls out of a brown wooden desk a stack of papers. The front paper of the stack says schedule on the very top in bold letters. She hands them to me then looks me up and down as she frowns. She disappears back into a part we cannot see, which is behind the desk again. She comes back a minute later with stuff in both of her hands. A blue and green sweater, two white button up short sleeve shirts, and finally a gray T-shirt with a beaver on it she holds in her right hand. In her left, a pair of grey sweatpants that say California Green Lake high around the thigh area, and a baby blue knee high skirt.
"You must wear the skirt and white shirt every day while in the school and attending classes. The sweater is for when your feeling cold. Gym is the only class in which you must use the sweat pants and the gray cotton shirt. Anywhere but the educational areas you may wear whatever you please, for example in the dorms. You may choose to stay in the dorms if you choose to, but must turn in a paper to do so before the first two weeks of school pass. Foot wear and hair style is your choice. There in your hand you hold your schedule. For today we'll have a classmate who happens to have all of the classes with you show you around." The lady in the blue dress next to me explains as I retrieve the uniform. I nod and suppress the huge urge to roll my eyes and walk out, but only barely.
Green Lake high, the worst school possible for me to transfer into. My old school, West Brooke high, hated this school. We had this rivalry thing going on, and not a friendly one at all. In every football game, soccer game, hockey game, so and so on, we always took our games against them seriously. We had hate prank wars, and students got into fight with Green Lake high students a lot. Not to mention the fact that our school motto which was made up entirely by the student body was, "We step on the Green, Rise with the orange." Our schools uniform color was orange and school mascot was a tiger and that was way better than this ugly uniform and their ridiculous mascot. I stretch my right arm and sit down on a black chair that's behind me.
I notice that the the walls are covered in posters that spread positivity. Most make me cringe, but some are what you could call decent. I notice a name tag hanging from the lady with the blue dress, her name is actually Mrs. Della. She leans against the wall and scrolls through her phone. There's a small round clock that hangs up on the wall  behind her. It looks relatively new, unlike the chair I'm sitting on. I sigh and close my eyes, as I lean my head against the wall.
Twenty long minutes later I hear heavy footsteps approaching. The clear glass door opens slowly with whine, and a little bell on the top of the door dings loudly. I turn my head slowly to see who walked in and nearly gasp out loud. My eyebrows shoot up and I feel myself tense up.
No. Way. It was none other than the guy I most despised, Jake Winters himself. He turns with a tired look in his eyes and spots me. His wide chocolate brown eyes widen as soon as he recognizes me. His lips form a straight line as he presses them together in frustration, and his eyebrows scrunch up.
"A little late Winters." Mrs Della says in a tone that suggests she's annoyed. She puts her phone in her back pocket and points a long skinny finger at me.
"This is Abby Reese, she just moved here from West Brooke high. She needs a good guide and I expect you to be one. No hostility whatsoever over which school she came from. Got it?" Mrs Della says in a hurried tone not looking at him, instead she glares down at her watch. Jake ruffles his brown curls and nods, but before he does Mrs. Della was already gone without even glancing at him once.
I stand up awkwardly right away and grab my things, then shove them down my back pack. As soon as he sees I'm done "packing up" he starts to walk out as he motions with his finger for me to come along. I walk behind him with my head down silently as he opens the door to exit the office and doesn't bother to hold it open for me. It almost slams into my face, but I catch it in time. He leads me down a very loud and packed hall, and I almost lose sight of him. Luckily I spot his curly brown head and dark red bag. We turn a right and switch halls, and he then suddenly stops in front of a dark brown door that's wide open.
"Sit anywhere you'd like." He mumbles under his breathe, not even facing me, as he steps into the large classroom. I assume this is math and walk in slowly as I stare at his back. He walks away from me and toward the back where he fist bumps almost all of the guys.
I feel a lot eyes on me. Of course they're all staring, they all probably recognize me as Killian's younger sister. My older brother, by two years, the guy who got caught vandalizing the school in graffiti. Also he's the guy in charge of most of the pranks, which we used to pull off against Lake Green.
I'd always tag along with Jericco, my "boyfriend" who's cheated on me twice. In my defense I only stuck around with him even after because no one really wanted to date the sister of Killian, as he's known to be quite scary. My brother beat up Jericco twice actually after he cheated on me the first time. The second he realized I didn't even care anymore, but still beat him up harshly again. Yet we still went out on dates eventually when I forgave him after he begged and begged, but never did I let him kiss me again with those dirty lips of his. Jerrico called me his girlfriend, and did always cause a rare guy who actually had the balls to come up to me, to run away. And I never did have the courage to break up with him even when I left.
I can understand why everyone here at this school would glare at me. I lay my head on the desk not even willing to look at these people.
"Hello?" A girl suddenly chirps at my side suddenly, which scares the bajeebers out of me. The girl has fluffy blond hair and is pretty short. Her eyes are a light shade of blue and her lips are a pale pink. She gives me a wide friendly smile and waves.
"I'm Rihanna Denison, and you? You're new right?" The girl chirps in high pitched, but not annoying voice. I stare back into the girls eyes keep my expression blank as I nod. She looks toward the door and so I do too, as it begins to close and a gray haired women with thick black glasses walks in. Rihanna jumps and pulls the  seat next to me and sits.
I look toward the back where Jake sits talking to a bunch of guys. The must be the jocks, I think to myself. Right in front of me sat many kids looking down at their school books intently, definitely nerds. To my right their were girls sitting on their desks, as they crossed their legs and laughed at whatever they were saying to each other. They were most likely talking about rumors and drama, they had to be the popular girls based on that and how much makeup they put on. Finally to my left there were what looked to be just normal students, even though some looked kind of emo. Great, where was I gonna fall in? Probably no where.
"Wait...you're not in your uniform?" Rihanna comments next to me all of the sudden.
" Mrs. Crooney is definitely the most strictest teacher here, she's going to send you to-" She never gets to finish, because Mrs. Crooney clears her throat and begins class without bothering to introduce me. Even though Rihanna didn't finish, I got the memo, if I got caught without it I was in trouble.
I sank down in my seat so that only my shoulders were visible. Mrs. Crooney continues class looking forward and pointing to the whiteboard. Fortunately she was not looking back at us. She was teaching us something about Polynomials.
I sighed and looked over to Rihanna who was looking intently at Mrs.Crooney and writing stuff down in a notebook. I get kind of bored and close my eyes. Suddenly as I start to doze off into a nap, someone screeches my name in a squeaky voice that almost makes me cover my ears.
"Are you sleeping in my class!? What are you doing here with no uniform?" She asks and narrows her eyes into slits and I resist at the urge to cover my ears again.
"Well you see I'm new here so I-"
"I don't care for an excuse!" She screeches. Why even ask then? I think to myself and roll my eyes.
"Did you just roll your eyes at me? You arrive here on your first day with no uniform! Then you fall asleep? Then you disrespect me?! Im going to have to ask you leave class and go to detention straight away!" She says as she motions toward the door. My mouth hangs open and I stop slouching as everyone stares at me harder. I sigh and pick up my back and walk toward the front. She gives me a cold glare as I pass by her and step out of the classroom.
What. Just. Happened. I think to myself, as I look around the school confused. One second I was in class and the next I was out? It all happened so quick! I don't even know where detention is!? I groan and drop my bag. What to do now? Suddenly I realize...I'm inside this school and I have access to it. I look around the halls and a grin takes place.
Maybe I could vandalize the lockers? Or maybe draw on their stupid flag? I was just about to do that when I heard a deep husky voice behind me.
"Hey." It said and I turned around.
