Different Paths

I sauntered humming along with the adorable birds
Relishing the icy twilight waft that slowly fondled my skin
Tuning my ears to the stridulation of the crickets
Swiping my fingers along the red-pigmented leaves.

Then I halted for a moment as I was faced with two highways
Each steering to the unknown
I was bewildered and flummoxed but the aetiology was yet to spring forth.

Some groups of people barrelled while others ample towards the right side of the highway.
My philosophy was that it was an indication of that road being the better one
So I joined the crowd

The aisle breathed blossoming flowers with flickering petals even in the gloom.
Everyone laughed and chattered about their respective businesses.
The neat path exhorted my assurance that I was in the right path
Until I heard wails and howls from the extreme, I set my ears keen to comprehend the occurrences but I was distracted by people fleeing.
I craved for no angel's instruction to run

Soon I was back to that same spot.
"If the first wasn't the right way then the second will" I speculated so I started my journey toward the left side of the highway.
I encountered rocks, thorns unlike the blazing flowers of the former
I wanted to turn around and go back to where I came from but a fictitious force kept pushing me onwards.

It was scary and when I glanced back I unearthed that I was solitary on this aisle
My flesh wanted to return but my spirit took preeminence
Then from a distance I saw a bright light like I was face to face with the sun.
Again I wanted to flee but that force kept me going
Till I walked through the light eyes shut.

The stronghold let go of me immediately and I fell backs to the floor
I opened my eyes to behold a beautiful garden.
It was so absurd for a moment so I pinched my thighs with the aim of jerking myself back to reality.
Nothing changed so I accepted my fate.
It was so beautiful.
The thought of going back home never surfaced.
I laid back appreciating the warmth of grasses.
Then I asserted "there are different paths for different people"
