Emerald green eyes scanned its surroundings. Blue skies, dotted with fluffy white clouds, with an everlasting carpet of dark green grass came to sight. The emerald eyes looked down and a sigh escaped thin lips. Everything was just too perfect. It was unnatural. This entire world is unnatural. Was it too much to ask for? The creator couldn't bear the thought of one flaw? It was so much easier back then when-

"Karlie!" The green-eyed girl was interrupted from her daily rant.

"Coming, Cara." Karlie mumbled.

"You're going to be late." The British girl said as she appeared behind Karlie. "Again."

"I don't really care anymore."

Cara rolled her eyes. "Don't start that again. Come on, it's senior year. You should be excited! We're finally going to be free!"

You might be, but I'm won't. Karlie wanted to say but held back as the British girl dragged her down the hill and towards what people might call school.

In other words, hell.

Taylor skimmed through  her schedule again for the millionth time. Some might call her crazy but Taylor doesn't like being surprised. She gets anxious at the thought of something wrong happening unexpectedly.

Everything seemed to be normal. No magical changes to her schedule. Acting Class, Talking to Animals, Caring for Animals, Becoming a Leader, and the normal academic subjects. She smiled at the new addition that separated this year's schedule from others.

Music.

Taylor has always been obsessed with all types of music ever since she went on a field trip to the local high school in second grade. The ensemble there did a short performance at their trip. Taylor remembered staring at the instruments with wide eyes and being amazed when vocals joined in. That night, she told her parents that she was becoming a musician when she grew up. They shared a look, smiled and her mother said,

"Sweetie, when you grow up, you'll be ruling a kingdom."

It was true. After senior year, her story will begin and she would get engaged. Shortly after, Taylor would take over her parents' job with her fiancé.

"Doesn't mean I won't be able to sing and play instruments, though." Taylor huffed after the flashback.

Taylor started walking towards the dormitories. This year she would be rooming with her best friend again. Taylor grinned when she saw the brunette.

"Hey Selena!" Taylor ran to her friend.

"Taylor!" The brunette looked up from her phone and turned around to hug her tall friend. "I've missed you so much."

"Sel, it's only been two weeks." Taylor laughed at her friend's dramatic ways.

"A lot of things can happen in two weeks."

"Not with my dad guarding me 24/7." The blonde replied with a sad smile.

"Whatever. Come on, I know where our dorm is."

There were two dormitory buildings. One for boys, the other for girls. Although, you could room with your "fated one" if all parents of the couple gave their permission. The buildings were at opposite sides of the school. Well, the said "school" was built more like a castle. From the outside, everything was symmetrical, a gray building with giant fields and woods surrounding it. However, the classrooms inside were a scattered mess, making it difficult to make it to class on time. Taylor still finds herself lost sometimes after three years of attending. In her defense, it was easy to forget where classes were in a huge three story building with numerous towers.
