Unlikely Love Part 1

"Ms. Granger!" Snape said sharply as he banged a book on her desk. Hermione snapped her up and immediately turned red. She had been dozing off in class? This was very unlike her. "My apologies Professor Snape," she said as she lowered her head in shame.  "That is not acceptable Ms. Granger. Meet me in my office after supper for detention" Snape declared as he continued the lesson. Hermione nodded as she glanced away to avoid his eyes, she never got detentions. Later that night, after writing a detailed apology, she headed down to the potions room. 

She knocked on the door and proceeded to enter. To her surprise, Draco was sitting there as well. He winked at her as he flashed a quick smile. Hermione looked away. disgusted. She could not believe that she once thought she loved him. Snape then walked in, ruining their one-sided moment. "Your task is to sort Dragon saliva from Wumpas Cat saliva," Snape said as he sneered, knowing this was a near-impossible task. He then walked out to have his dinner and left them alone.

Hermione started to get to work, separating the many bottles into two piles.  Meanwhile, Draco inched closer, as he moved, Hermione could smell his overpowering cologne, which she had once craved like a drug. He put his arm around her and nestled into her neck. "Get lost Draco," She said as she moved across the table. "Come on Hermione," he said, "I know you really want me, the whole year knows. So why are you fighting me?" He asked as he moved closer to her.         Through gritted teeth though, Hermione said " Correction, I wanted you Draco. And anyway I've moved on from that, I need to focus on school". 

Draco, visibly hurt but trying not to show it flung his hands up in the air "Oh come on girl, we could be perfect together." In the dim candlelight, Hermione smiled, she had never lost her feelings. She flashed him a smile and went back around the table. "I knew you liked me Granger" Draco whispered as he pulled her close. He put his arm around hern neck and pulled her even closer to him. Hermione's instinct told her to pull away, but how could she? As he pulled her in she could see his piercing blue eyes contrasting his pale skin. His eyes seemed to dance in the candlelight. She leaned in and whispered in his ear "I love you Malfoy". "I know", Draco said as he kissed her.
