A/N: Apologies in advance. You don't know what this story holds, and tbh, neither do I! Enjoy (:
"You ready?" Oikawa asked while slinging an arm around your shoulders. You turned to him, nodded, and then looked back at the school in front of you. Aoba Johsai. This was your first year here, and if you were being honest, you were actually very nervous.
"Are you suuuuuuuure? You're not even a little bit nervousssss?" He questioned in a sing-songy voice while winking at you. He was rocking you side to side by your shoulders... That is, until your brother came up behind Oikawa and flicked him in the head.
"Ow! Iwa-chan!" That hurt!" He said while pouting.
"Knock it off! She is nervous enough already! You are just going to make it worse if you keep running that big mouth of yours." Hajime scolded while walking past both of you.
"I am just trying to help! If everyone sees her walking with the school's pretty boy, then it will give her a good start on the climb to ultimate popularity!" Oikawa stated, sounding proud of himself. He stood with his hands on his hips, eyes closed, and head tilted up towards the sky. He looked like he was waiting for everyone to start praising him. Hajime walked back over to him and punched him in the gut. Oikawa doubled over, clutching his stomach, and looked at your brother with puppy eyes. Hajime walked back up to where you were waiting for him while you snickered softly at Oikawa's expression.
"Keep up, Asskawa. We don't have time for this right now. I want to show (Y/N) where all her classes are before school starts. We need to get going if we don't want to be late." Hajime grumbled while grabbing your arm lightly and pulling you along with him.
"Okay, fine!" Oikawa grumbled, jogging over to you both. You shot him a sympathetic smile, and he returned it with a big grin and one of his signature peace signs.
"Oh fuck! I almost forgot! I have to go the to gym and meet with the Coach! I better get going! I hope you have a great day! I'll see you at practice! Don't do anything I wouldn't do! Bye!" He said quickly before giving you a tight hug, a quick kiss on the top of the head, and then running off towards the gym. You noticed a few girls pointing at you and whispering after Oikawa's exchange with you. What else could you expect? Your brother had told you that Oikawa was the most popular guy at school.
You had known Oikawa your whole life. Him and Hajime had been friends for as long as you could remember, and they were basically attached at the hip. During the previous summer, your parents had moved to Tokyo to pursue their work. That left you and Hajime sharing a house together, with Oikawa's house located across the street. That lead to the three of you becoming even closer over the summer. Your houses were pretty close to the high school, so that meant the three of you would walk to and from school together.
AND, most importantly, it was basically an unspoken rule that you were off limits to Oikawa and vice versa. Although, you had never really had any interest in him in that way. He had always been like a brother to you.
Plus, you were pretty sure he was gay. Or at least Bi.
"What did he mean by 'see you at practice'? I'm not on the volleyball team." You asked your brother while walking through the hallways in the school.
"Well, we have practice, so we thought you could just watch and wait for us. That way you, me, and Oikawa can all walk home together. We already have a manager, but the team could always use an extra helping hand. You could pass out water and towels, and comment on our playing- like, our form and stuff. Is that okay with you?" Hajime explained. You knew full well that you didn't have a choice either way, but it did sound like it could be fun. It also meant that you wouldn't have to walk home by yourself.
"Yeah! That sounds great!" You looked at your brother with an excited smile. You were actually looking forward to this.
After Hajime showed you where all your classes were, he brought you back to where your first hour was. You thanked him and gave him a big hug.
"Of course!" He smiled, hugging you back. "You think you'll be okay? I know these past few months have been full of big changes, and I just don't want you to-"
"Haj-Haj, I'll be fine! I have decent enough social skills, and I know if anyone hurts me, you and 'kawa will fight them for me!" You stated enthusiastically. He chuckled and adjusted his bag on his shoulder.
"I have to get going to my class now. I will come and get you for lunch. I'll see you then! Love you!" He waved while walking off.
"Love you too!" You said after him. You two had always been very close. Hajime had been there for your through all your ups and downs, and you loved your brother more than anyone else in the world. He was basically your best friend; especially now that you were in senior high. Him and Oikawa were the only ones you knew here.
You turned around to enter your class, but ended up bumping into someone. You both stumbled back a little, but your balance returned to you quickly.
"I am so sorry! I should have been paying attent- Yahaba?" You interrupted yourself, recognizing who the person was.
"Hey, (Y/N)! It's been a little while!" He smiled, while scratching the back of his neck. You threw your arms around him and squeezed him. He laughed and hugged you back.
Yahaba had been your best friend since junior high. Even though he was a year older than you, the two of you used to spend almost all of your time together. But, that changed when he went to Date Tech High for his first year of high school. The two of you had fallen out of contact since then.
"I missed you so much! But why are you here? I thought you were going to Date Tech?" You questioned him, while releasing each other and walking into the same class.
"Yeah, I was. But I had to transfer here, because my family moved. I don't know anyone else here, except you, so I am glad I bumped into you when I did!" He said, while you both smiled.
"Wait, if you are here, that means Hajime is too, right? He and Oikawa are third years now, aren't they? Wow! Time flies!" He spoke, but it seemed like those words were more towards himself.
Since you and Yahaba would always hang out, and Hajime would always hang out with Oikawa, the four of you were all very familiar with each other. Now you knew three people here.
"I am so happy we have a class together! Especially since it's our first class of the day! That should make the mornings a lot more bearable! I am so glad to have my best friend back!" He stated, looking at you happily. Hearing him say that made you extremely overjoyed. You were worried that he had replaced you as 'the best friend', but it was great to see that nothing had changed.
You looked at the board and saw that it said you could sit wherever. You grabbed Yahaba's forearm and dragged him to an empty table. Once you were seated next to each other, you both broke into a fit of laughter. It was like no time had passed. You were still very comfortable around each other. That put you at ease.
You could tell it was going to be a good day.
