noah attempts to comfort a close friend.
suggestive, implied sex.

"eyes on me."
noah was hovering above the shaking body of schlatt, whose breaths were heavy in a panic.
"it's okay, yeah? i'm here to make it better." gentle hand caressing his cheek, a soft smile at the prickle of overgrown stubble on the usually clean-shaven face of his fwb.
schlatt was about to open his mouth to throw some childish insult, when a flash dug itself through the room's blinds again, bringing a louder than normal roar of thunder along with it, making the boy's shaking figure jump even harder than the first time, ready to get up and run to the basement of the house as a makeshift panic room.
but before he could a harsh, shaky grip on his wrist held him in place, disappointment from noah meeting him when he turned back to look.
"schlatt," a pull, and schlatt, despite terrified out of his mind let himself be tugged back. "just look at me."
and he did, making eye contact despite the boiling anger of being babied.

"trust me, okay?" noah, met with an unsure nod, tugged the other on the bed more comfortably, back in their starting position of noah with his hands on either side of the boy's head, tempted to just stare and admire. to admire the way his hair went in every direction, how pretty he looked despite his current state, despite the fast paced breathing that threatened to wake something in noah, to wake something he always tried to hide, which never worked around the other. but he knew the other needed some type of distraction, so he stopped rattling his brain, letting himself sit down on schlatt's lap, one hand in his hair to pull head gently to side, he decided soft kisses to already bruised neck was the only thing he could think of.

and schlatt resisted at first, a weak kick of legs to try to push the other off with a string of silly insults to try to change noah's mind, but it wasn't long before he calmed down from his temper tantrum of sorts, only jumping occasionally at flashes from the nearby window that didn't actually bring anything along with them.

noah took this time to think, actually, heartbeat drumming loudly in his own ears, cause he was afraid too, freezing at the brighter flashes threatening to snap eardrums if they wished to.
he'd never tell this to the boy still shaking in his hold, though. the boy whose harsh breaths against his skin were enough to distract him too, bringing mutual comfort momentarily, that is, until another loud bang followed, catching both boys off guard, but noah caught hands and slammed them to the wall so schlatt couldn't move, couldn't have time to even think about bolting for the basement downstairs, and he almost felt bad when he heard a pained groan— until he realized the cause had been his own shocked reaction that caused him to clamp teeth down where he'd been previously giving soft kisses.
"shit— did that hurt?" noah, now panicked too, traced a finger over the bloodied bite mark, bringing another sound of same nature from the taller.
"yeah," schlatt struggled his hands against noah's grip so he'd let them loose, so his arms could wrap comfortably around the other's neck, cold sweat making contact with shaky limbs. "fucking hell, you're like a deer in headlights," he mocked, but only for a second. "you're terrified too."
and that he was, realizing his act had crumbled made him lose his calm as well.
"i— i was just trying to help, you prick!" harsh words spat, but with no ill intent, making schlatt sigh with a nervous laugh, sitting up slightly and dragging noah as well.
"then keep doing it, you bitch."
and that caught noah off guard, but swallowing down hard in quiet agreement he complied, unsteady hands placing themselves back as he slowly regained his composure, teeth grazing again on bloodied skin, encouraged by the picked up pace of the rise and fall of schlatt's chest, by his wandering hands wrapping themselves around his neck however they could, thumbs pressing ever so slightly, in that constant battle for dominance that always shined through between them.

in fights and arguments, in games and stupid competitions, in secret shared kisses and moments away from the naked eye. difference in them was eternal, like contrast between eye of the storm and clearing skies, between reds and blues, between guns and roses. though weren't those all good matches?
in good time, ear piercing thunder became white noise, drowned out by bickering and breathless confessions, nothing on each other's minds other than words they'd decided still to keep to themselves, announcements of love, of want to be more than what they are. cause they knew these were more than fwb flings, despite differences, they needed each other.
but who'd admit?
