The Alter Egos

Chapter one

She was been followed and had no idea who it was. She had watch about stalkers but they don't belong in a place like this.
She had no idea who it could be,
who would want to harm her. She was trying hard not to panic,
lately her sleep had been filled with nightmares she had to consult a pastor, she had woken up each morning with a feeling
of impending doom. Perhaps it's all her imagination, Katherine Johnson thought. I'm working too hard I could nearly do a day without resting. I need a break.
   She turned to look at herself
in the bedroom mirror. She was admiring herself because she's in her early twenties, she was neatly
dress ready for work. I hate my structure I'm thinner than a constructor. I must start eating well, she walked into the kitchen and began to prepare breakfast
still thinking of her horrible nightmares forcing herself to forget them and concentrating on the delicious breakfast.
Twenty minutes later everything
was ready she placed her breakfast on the table before she started eating she was too scared to eat, she gave the breakfast to the beggars who stayed outside her estate. She thought angrily this can't continue whoever the stalker is I most not allow him to do this to me she saw the clock and said I am ten minutes late before she left she looked at her apartment and assure everything was arranged and well fixed.
  She took the stairs to the garage
she looked around the garage carefully then ran to her car she jumped inside and bolted all the doors and started driving to work it started raining, so she started driving slowly Katherine thought "the sun is going to come out."
Twenty minutes later she was driving through the street were her office was located she stopped in the road and bought pepper spray she was successfully employed in an oil company she turned her car to park having a feeling the stalker was behind her so she brought out her pepper spray ready to strike she looked and saw it was the security she then became calm, The security asked her for ID card she showed him and came out of her car thinking the stalker can't do anything since they are securities here the sun finally came out she got inside that everyone was already working she headed to her office because she knows this isn't the first time she's missing the meeting.
  As headed towards her seat her door opened she thought it was the stalker she was about to bring out her pepper spray but she turned and saw it was her manager she felt her heart pumping normally she looked as he walked towards her and he said "morning Katherine."
Her manager Jeffrey was in his early thirties earnest man with a good reputation.
  He once tried to persuade Katherine to go to bed with him, but he finally gave up and they had become good friends since then.
  He handed Katherine the latest punch news papers Katherine looked at the image it was a dark looking man in his sixties with a grey hair it was her father world time celebrity he was the world best professor, the caption read
"Prof Jackson Michael, just arrived from London with justice in his hand."
"I've read it before"
  "How does it feel to have a famous dad
Katherine smiled,"nice."
"He's a great man."
I'll tell him your comment. "Time for lunch." Katherine replied
"Good by the way you want to hang out after work." Jeffrey asked
Katherine replied,"no I won't make it, I would be going to see my dad."
Her reply disappointed him then he asked her what about Saturday Katherine nodded in agreement so as he left she "thought he can't be the stalker." After some minutes she noticed someone watching her she looked and then saw that it was Mark David  that was watching her "morning sweetheart" he said
David was one of the company best employers.
"Need help," he asked
"No am okay,"
"Hey what about us go shopping on Saturday babe,"
"Thank you am busy, stop calling me all those your rubbish" Katherine replied.
"Going out with boss again," he said, Katherine turned to him angrily. '' look, it's none of your goddamn business."
"He's ugly becoming old I don't know what you see in him anyway but I will give you time you know what I mean," he said
"I'm busy David you'redisturbing me please leave my office."
He looked at her and whispered, "you know my address if you're ready I don't give up,"then he made his way to the exit, she watched as he left her, she began to think "could he be the stalker, no if he was the one he was the one he would have tried something stupid.
   So as she was done it was already time for her to leave because she didn't apply for night work so she left to the restaurant where her father made an arrangement to meet her as she waited two minutes later she saw him entering the restaurant she watched as everyone was looking at him as he sat down he looked at her without any greeting, "your becoming thinner," she didn't look worried, "so when are you going to finally go have a couple days off this your work." She replied, "am not sure yet." So as the waiter came her dad ordered some food and one of the largest pizza as the waiter was bringing everything he had ordered he mistakenly poured the tea on her father's trouser so she watched as her father gave the man a slap in the in the cheek and several punch she remembered her father had anger issues ever
since her mom died so couldn't she didn't dare to stop him stop him. As they finished eating, she waited for her Dad to exit then went to meet the waiter to apologise for her dad's behavior and gave him some dollars.
  So as she went home she was angry about her father word when he told her going out with
Jeffrey her boss is a bad idea she remembered when she was in highschool when she had a friend Joshua who was a star but one day he came to her house to invite her to the school party as she was getting ready her father came and he told her there leaving tomorrow with a morning flight.
She became sad and thought why
her father was trying to separate her and Joshua so as she came out Joshua asked me"why are you sad come on talk to me, she told him what her father told her." He became angry, "we are going to run away together there's a train leaving by 12am." she nodded her Head in agreement when they got to his house he held hand
"why don't we stay in a hotel close by so we will leave early." "No don't worry I will be in the train station first thing tomorrow."  The next day, she went to the train station and waited half and hour she didn't see any sign of Joshua she saw the train pass her and as she stood there looking at it, she became sad and went home and her and her father took off as she came back to her senses she discovered she was still in the restaurant and didn't know she thought she was home so as she went back to office to carry some things she forgot, she saw David in her front I hear you had lunch with your dad babe, Katherine was angry, "please excuse me," "alright sweetheart" he replied he excused her, "So what about dinner with me,"
"David I have told you several times I am not interested by the way they are many girls out there why is it me you want," he didn't reply and told her,"I will wait till you change your mind then he left.
   So the same thing as she brought out her pepper spray and ran to were she packed her car and bolted all the doors and when she arrived to the her apartment she was shocked every single light in the apartment was on
