A/N: Okay, so here is my first go at writing an actual story. If this story is received well, I'll make a Daryl Dixon one, or any other Norman Reedus characters that get requested. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy my story.
I looked around my new apartment, the walls needed a little paint, and everything needed polishing, but it was more than enough for me. In fact, it was perfect. I sat down on my new couch, sighing as my phone beeped. I'd recently taken up a new job here as a homicide detective, my partner being none other than detective Paul Smecker. I didn't have a grudge against him personally, he was just..eccentric.
Welcome to Boston!! We have to get a drink sometime!
-Paul xoxo
I sighed, wondering what I should message back, I stuck with something simple.
Hey Paul, thanks for the warm welcome, we should definitely get a drink. Any local bars?
-Izzy.
I shrugged, it was good enough. Smecker was probably one of those typical assholes who only want a cheap fuck. I rolled my eyes and started unpacking some boxes, Paul messaged again.
There's a few nice ones close to where you are actually, me and my boyfriend often go downtown drinking.
- Paul xoxo
I read the message, then re-read it, then mentally scalded myself. I completely misjudged Paul Smecker. I thought he was hitting on me, like the self absorbed bastard I am, when in reality, he had a boyfriend. God, I can be such an asshole sometimes.
After I'd unpacked, I sat down and turned on the TV, getting ready to watch a movie, but I was very rudely interrupted by some noise. I waited then heard it again, yelling and laughing. Now I'm not one to get annoyed, but there's a scale of 1 to 10 on how loud you can be when you have neighbours. I keep at a solid 3. These assholes? Off the fucking scale.
I got up and walked to the apartment next to me, knocking on the door. I waited, then knocked again before the door opened to reveal a tall, handsome yet visibly drunk man. "Do you mind keeping the noise down, please?" I asked, rather timidly to him.
He looked down at me and howled with laughter. "Ye' fuckin' what? We ain't made no fuckin' noise, darlin'." He slurred with his thick Irish accent. Great, now i'm living next to an Irish asshole with an attitude problem. "Uhm, yes you are. I cant hear my fucking film over you." I hissed.
He took a drag from his cigarette and blew a smoke ring. "Not m' fuckin' problem-." He was cut off by a hard smack to the back of the head. "Leave the nice lady alone ye' stupid fuckin' eejit." The man behind him piped up. The dude I was just talking to shook his head and stormed off inside, leaving me with the guy who just saved me an argument. I swooned at the sight of him. He was a little shorter than that guy i'd just met, but his arms were a little more muscular. He was clad in a tight black t-shirt that clung to his god like physique, and some tight briefs. I tried not to stare, instead studying his face. He had the brightest blue eyes I'd ever seen, and a little scruff growing on his chin from neglecting to shave. His hair was cut short, but still long enough for me to grab- What the fuck am I thinking.
"Sorry 'bout Connor, he thinks he owns the fuckin' world or somethin'!" the man slurred, flashing me a charming smile. I shrugged, "It's okay, I just came to ask if you could be a little quieter." The man nodded, "Ah fuck, 'course we'll be quiet, m' real sorry." He took another swig from his beer bottle. "What's ye' name neighbour?" I smiled, "Isobel, but feel free to call me 'Izzy'." He nodded, "G'night, Izzy." I smiled, "Goodnight to you too..." I trailed off, not knowing his name. "Murphy, Murphy MacManus, but ye' can call me Murph." I chuckled and headed back into my room, and sure enough, I couldn't hear them being loud at all.
Maybe Boston isn't that bad after all.
