Untitled Part 1

I furiously blinked at the glaring blinking screen in the dark atmosphere. It was getting hard to see clearly when my eyes were as puffy as a pufferfish. But as edgy as it sounds, my broken heart hurts more.

Is it criminal to spend time with one's friend? Is it wrong to ask if they would like to hang out this Friday? Maybe I'm being passive aggressive here, but surely one would not be capable of triggering an entire FAKED exposé of my alleged behaviour on social media detailing our three year friendship just by asking a mere question, would it?

I played the scene in my mind again. My first friend in the school just dumped me 4 hours ago, saying that it was better if we parted ways. What did I even do? I only asked if you would like to spend time together this Friday!

Weary at the thought, I shut down the computer, walked to the counter and asked for the bill. The staff, clad in a t-shirt which printed "GG NET CAFE" in striking neon colours and a pair of black slacks stood before me opened their mouth and said, "That will be $35, thanks," 

My mouth gaped wide open. Thirty...five? I only had $50 left in my wallet. This cost was too much for me to bear. Plucking all my existing courage, I asked, "Pretty and kind sister, can you please give me a discount? I promise to treat you to something extra special in the future ~"

To which they responded in pointing to a board of rules, printed in bold red: "NO HARASSING STAFF. YOU WILL GET BLACKLISTED." Wow, fate was sure harsh on me today. Feeling as if a thousand needles were pricking my skin at the moment, I reluctantly plucked out my money with shaking hands. 

Despite the shakiness, my grip must be rather strong, as the staff had to wrench my bills out of my hand. After putting the money in the cash register, they replied, "ThAnK yOu" in an angry, sarcastic tone.
