Harry Potter stood at platform nine and three quarters for the first time since the war had ended. He forgot just how much he missed this place, it felt like home to Harry. He took in the colorful sight of the first years hugging their parents, while the seventh years tried desperately to escape their parents and their teary faces. Oh what it would be like to have parents wishing him off to have a safe last year at Hogwarts. Even then, that would've been last year, If the chosen one had lived a normal life. He didn't want to return for his eighth year of education, but Hermione had practically dragged him to King's Cross, "You need to finish your education, Harry!" She'd told him. He supposed she was right, but that didn't make his want to return to the place he'd lost so many people more prominent.
Harry stepped aboard the train, taking in the noisy students and smell of steam. The crowd was already beggining to make Harry feel claustrophobic. He hadn't been able to stand in a room with more than a few people without feeling nauseated, but war did that to you. He was constantly on his toes, feeling as if he was in danger when in fact he was perfectly fine. He'd suffered from PTSD after the war had ended. He'd just about murdered Ron after he'd been woken up after having a particularly vivid nightmare one night. Nobody dared to sneak up on the boy after that. He also struggled with depression and it was quiet obvious. He barely ate. He'd spoken a few sentences in a matter of months. He had large, black, dark circles under his eyes from the lack of sleep. He rarely slept, when he did his slumber was invaded with vivid flashbacks and nightmares that caused immense pain to relive. He should've been happy. He should've felt relieved that the dark lord had gone, but he was feeling quite the opposite.
Harry made his way down the isle, pointed and stared at as if he was some sort of freak in the town circus. He hated the feeling of being the center of attention. It made him feel as if he was back in the forbidden forest, not daring to move a centimeter, for fear of actually getting murdered. Harry self consciously made sure the scar on his forehead was covered with his hair. He hated this attention. He wished he could simply vanish, but he couldn't. What would people say if the boy who lived had gone missing? Harry didn't want to think about the uproar. Slowly him, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny made their way to their usual compartment. They sat down, Ron and Hermione together, Harry sat across from them, Ginny's head resting on his shoulder, feeling somewhat alone, although surrounded by people. Ron, Hermione, and Ginny began engaging in a conversation while Harry tuned the sound out, watching the raindrops slowly drizzle down the window outside. He had his eye on one particular raindrop when the clicking sound of the compartment door opening brought him out of his trance. Harry slowly turned his head to the door, along with everyone else. "M-mind if I sit?" The person asked. There stood, in the middle of the doorway, looking rather sheepish, was someone whom Harry and not expected to return to Hogwarts: Draco Malfoy.
