"I'm not saying you can't Emma. It's just now, we have to figure out what to do with you."

"Oh, can't she just stay with us, dad?! She can share my room, I won't mind! That way she doesn't have to go back to that nasty family. Please, dad?!" Charlie's eyebrows rose and he hid a smile as Emma turned her head and looked at her in shock. Her mouth opened and closed a couple of times as if she was trying to come up with something to say but couldn't think of anything.

"I don't know Bells. But hey, I can try. It might take a few phone calls to accomplish anything but I'll give it a shot. If that is alright with Emma, that is." He said evenly, holding back a chuckle at Emma's dumbfounded expression. Bella's grin widened and she clapped her hands together in excitement.

"Say you'll do it, Emma, please! It'll be just like a sleepover!" Bella begged. Emma looked at Bella than to Charlie, really confused but slowly nodded. Bella cheered and she gave the girl a hug. Charlie let his grin escape him then and stood up to make the arrangements.

"I can't guarantee if I can make this a permanent thing, but I'll try. Bella why don't you take Emma here to the diner and order your pasta, I'll be right there. I'll get Catherine to keep an eye on you." Bella nodded and took Emma's hand to lead her to the diner across the street.

"This will be the best! If dad can make things work like I know he can, you'll practically be my sister! We can be Emma and Bella Swan!" Bella rambled as they left the police station. Emma was still confused but a smile was tugging on her lips as hope fluttered in her heart. Emma Swan. She could get used to that.

                                                                             15 YEARS LATER

It was a very special day when Bella knocked loudly on someone's door and she wouldn't stop till it opened to the person she traveled a very long way for. She had been on a bus for hours and was eager to get into the apartment and more importantly, finally be able to kick back and relax.

"I'm coming!" A familiar voice shouted. Bella grinned and lifted the annual birthday cupcake for her sister in all ways except for blood, in front of her face.

"Bella!" Emma said in surprise as she opened her door to see the brunette with a wide grin.

"Emma. Don't you look snazzy?" Bella replied in a devilish tone, smirking. Emma ushered her in as Bella handed her the cupcake and dropped her bag.

"What are you doing here? I thought you were in Washington!"

"I was. I got bored and decided a few days ago that since your birthday was coming up, I should come and visit you instead of skype you like the last few years. So I dropped out and came to visit."

"Wait, you dropped out of college?!" Emma demanded. Bella shrugged and poured herself a glass of wine. Taking a sip, her face scrunched up and she shook her head, trying to get rid of the taste in her mouth. Definitely not the best wine she had ever tasted. Emma smiled before she remembered what her sister had just admitted.

"Maybe." Emma looked at her incredulously until Bella finally crumpled.

"I was bored okay? Everything was about tests and studying and being boring and I didn't even like any of the classes anyway. Plus, the only reason I stayed was for my boyfriend Edward and he dumped me a few weeks ago, that asshole. No warning or anything. It was just out of the blue! And I remember you telling me to come to visit you soon so tada here I am!" Bella moved her arms grandly, taking care not to spill any of the wine. Emma sighed but gave a slight smile.

"Well, I guess I can't really be upset with you. I imagine Charlie is going to do that enough for the both of us." Bella stuck out her tongue at the blonde.
