"Not a word."

"I didn't say anything, ulv prinsen." She snickered, letting him steal her glass and down it. "I know how much you enjoy the chase. Poor girl, she has no idea how much it entices you when she tries to push you away. But you best be careful with your crush. The children know of it and will use it against you." She warned, looking idly at the small group that was talking sternly to the brunette.

"You worry too much, Valkyrie." She rolled her eyes and patted his cheek adoringly.

"You worry too little." She countered before kissing his cheek and went on her way to find Elijah. She heard his voice upstairs so she followed her ears as she ascended the stairs. She found him looking worried at one of the doors.

"Lijah, what are you doing up here, away from the party? We still have a lot of champagne and schmoozing to do." She questioned, resting her hand on his arm. His face fell into a mask and he turned to his oldest friend with a fake smile that she didn't fall for and made it obvious in her face but she took his arm anyway as he escorted her back down the stairs. What she heard on the way down, made her giggle.

"Your little antagonizing group has some very high opinions about me, don't they?" She giggled as whispers made their way to her. Some very accusing, some hilarious, all of them sad. Elijah grinned and twirled her out. She laughed joyfully and spun back toward him.

"As long as I'm your favorite." He teased and Hëlle rolled her eyes.

"Without a doubt." She shoved his shoulder as Kol came up from up behind her with Rebekah.

"Now I'm offended. Boring, old Elijah is your favorite? I remember us having some good old times, Hëlle that would blast any boring memories you have with that stick in the mud." Kol pouted, hooking his arm around her waist.

"What about me? Girl besties forever and you chose a boy over me? Typical." Rebekah stuck her nose in the air with fake indignation. Klaus soon joined the circle as Hëlle was stuck in the middle, looking amused at who claimed who was first and who should be her favorite. Klaus raised his eyebrows at her and wiggled and she bit her lip to stop the laughter.

"Alright, alright. You're all my favorites! You're going to give a girl an ego she can't control if you don't stop." She burst out with giggles as Kol and Rebekah looked at her with dissatisfaction on their faces. Hëlle chalked it up to sibling rivalry as she pulled the three troublemakers into a grand discussion over what happened the last time she was forced to choose at a ball between the siblings as Elijah excused himself to find the doppelganger and find out what his mother was up to.

The court jester today was particularly boring to the crowd so they mindlessly talked, ignoring the poor fool who was trying his hardest to amuse the court. But his jokes fell flat and his juggling skills were well below subpar. Hëlle sighed and propped her chin on the palm of the hand. Her lord husband was joking with his neighbor as they ogled the serving wenches. Hëlle ignored his loudness and idly looked over at the new arrivals that arrived earlier that day. It was a family of three, comprised of two men and one lady. New they may be, but they all made themselves very comfortable with the court; already mingling and catching eyes as all three were very handsome. As Hëlle was looking, the younger of the brothers caught her gaze and gave her a wide smirk. She quirked an eyebrow as he lifted his goblet of wine to her but couldn't stop the small smile from inching across her face. It quickly dropped though and she moved her gaze elsewhere as loud laughter echoed in the hall. Bored but masking it, she stood up and excused herself from everyone. Her husband waved her off as he called forth another wench. She walked to the outside of the garden and hid from view, under a tall oak. She had a headache from the crowd and she knew it wasn't going away once her husband decides to go to their lodging. Making herself comfortable in between the large roots, she started humming one of her favorite songs that her mother sang to her. A wave of homesickness washed over her as she continued, closing her eyes.
