It started with a cow in his living room

He paused, rubbed his eyes, and looked again. The thing mooed, "you know what, I do not have time for this right now, how did you even get in here? And now I'm talking to a cow..." Tony sighed.

"Friday, how...?" the man asked tiredly, pouring himself some coffee.

"I'm not sure sir, it appears the security feed has been tampered with."

He groaned, slid a hand down his haggard face, "well I have things to do, places to be, and I'll figure it out later. For now, just be a dear and get that dam thing outta here"

"Yes sir"

Thor watched as Loki died, he would probably join him soon after. Thanos stood to his full height, towering over them. At least Hulk escaped, therein lay some hope. Alas, not much. The distress signal hadn't been sent so no one was coming. The last of his people would die alone, and he would die with them. It was an honorable death, not quite what he'd imagined, but good enough.

And as he closed his eyes...

Lightning coursed through his veins, and the hero felt more alive than ever before. Thor's eyes flew open, glowing with intense energy. The likes of which one could only dream of. A new purpose entered his mind. Someone was giving him another chance, an extra boost. He did not intend to waste it.

The doctor awoke to dampness and growls in what appeared to be a cave of some sort. He looks down, and is surprised to find himself in clothes.

"Well that's a first" the confused man mutters. The circling canines are brought to his attention when one attempts to deliver a particularly nasty bite.

They were supposed to be safe. Clint snorted at the thought. If life had taught him anything, it would be that "safe" is an illusion, much like "home" and "complicationless-plans" and "saving everybody" and "non-world-dooming-egotistical-rich-a**es" and "teams-that-actually-work-together-after-becommimg-as-close-as-family" and- Okay, that was enough. He already had a family, came the reminder. So he better focus on keeping it that way.

The archer raced through his fields, ducking and rolling when necessary. Gunfire exploded behind him. It was probably just his imagination, but he thought the plants might've been tugging at his pants more than usual. More than ever, in fact. It was unnaturally windy tonight, just perfect for archery. No matter, despite what some may think. Hawk-eye could do more than just fight with a bow.

Just as he settled himself into a nice nook in a tree after finally reaching the woods, the clouds moved in front of the moon. Barton cursed, re-slinging his bow and darting off through the branches. The man was practically in his element. As long as his family was safe, and he trusted Bucky enough for that. His assailants- and Hydra is strongly suspected- wouldn't catch up with him. Unless something went majorly wrong and- oh, he jinxed it didn't he. Nat would tease him for it if she heard, or was here at all. She didn't need to be told to know what he was thinking. As it is, he barely repressed a groan.

The clearing was upon Clint and before he knew it, so were his would-be captors.

Seeming to shine directly down on the grounded bird, the moon chose that moment to show itself.
