Chapter 1

I sprawled out of my sky blue sheets with two thick files on Forensic Anthropology and study notes for my final assignments in varsity before I got my degree. My 23rd birthday was coming up soon. In two days to be exact. My boyfriend Bradley of three years was coming over. I haven't seen him in quite some time as both of us are  with our degrees. He is definitely gifted in the looks department. Tall, hair shaved on the sides but curly on top. Hazel eyes, African, masculine and tattoos. My best friend, Lillie-Ann and my mother, Asena Black insisted on planning a huge party even though my 21st had already passed. My dad, Ryan James Black is a businessman and multi-billionaire. He married my mom who is a world renowned fashion designer. My name is Evie-Mae Devika Black. I have a younger sister who is 15. Lola-Rose Corinne Black. My parents were never around when I was growing up and it hasn't changed much with Lola. My dad is always travelling and my mom is always at her boutique with clients. We live in the country's biggest housing estate so you can imagine how big our house is. Our helper Leah  Edmund has been with us for as long as I can remember. She walks into my room with a tray of breakfast. Toasted bread and cheese with bacon and a strong cup of coffee. ''Just what I need. Thanks Leah. You are a life saver.'' She is. She has always been there for me since day one. She was there for me more than my parents ever were.
