Chapter 2

"It still boggles my mind how you can eat all of that," Emma said, placing her plate down and getting comfortable on the couch. "I blame genetics and being a growing girl. Plus, you know how much I adore food." I finished eating and leaned back on the couch, thinking about the future and what it had in store for me and Emma. We have been best friends since the day we met, and I couldn't imagine a better one. She is the ying to my yang and I know the possibility of splitting up in the future is high, as after high school most people drift away.

"Hey Athena, what's got you looking so down. We're supposed to be having fun and celebrating you last day as a child, tomorrow you are eighteen and officially an adult."

"Just thinking about how much I love you and well we're graduating this year. Do you think we will still be friends in the future? We may be going to different colleges, and I just can't help thinking this may be an end to our friendship."

"Geeezz, Athena way to be all dark and gloomy. We have been best friends since we were seven and nothing not even distance is going to change that. Hell, girl we may end up going to the same one, let's not worry about that for now. We still have months before we have to even think about college acceptance letters and college. Nothing will ever will ever tear us apart, anyway, enough will all this sad junk today is about celebrating you and how amazing you are."

"You are right girl, let's forget about the college and all that drama and focus on the present and your big day tomorrow. Now, I have a small gift for you, and I hope you like it."

"Really, what is it?" I exclaimed. I love gifts and I know I will love anything Emma, gets me. Emma rushes to her bag and pulls out a small blue box, with a beautiful white flower on it. Emma slowly hands me the box and my excitement grows. "Now it is nothing big, but I think you will love it." I open the box and inside is a beautiful charm bracelet.

"Now I know it is silly, but I loved the idea that you can add things as life goes on. Now it only has 4 charms on it, but you can add more later or switch them out. The first is wave and a shell for your love of the ocean and marine life, next is a number 2 so you never forget when we met and the last is an infinity charm because you are stuck with me forever."

"I Love it!" I yell and jumped on Emma hugging the life out of her.

"Let me go! You crazy bitch." I let go of her and quickly asked her to put it on me.

"Now I love you too, But I should get going its almost 11 and unfortunately we still have school tomorrow."

After Emma left, I started getting ready for bed, ready for tomorrow to arrive.
