i never feared the thought of growing up
yet the number twenty
is stirring up something within me
adults constantly telling me
i can no longer sit at the kids table
yet im still not mature enough
to hold an adult conversation
as i don't have the years of experience
like the real adults do
often being told " We'll tell you when you're older"
yet how old will we be when we're allowed
to stomach the adults truth
i must make it clear that young adulthood
sure is strange
stuck between not being considered a child or teen
yet still not being viewed as an adult
