The breeze engulfed me as I walked though the trees. I hugged myself trying to bring some warmth to my light skin that had started getting goosebumps.
My curly black hair was let loose as I loved the feeling of the cold air in my wet sculp. I was walking away from the river where I had gone for a night swim. I had wrapped a green shawl around my body. It was really short and left nothing to the imagination. But who cares when living in the woods alone. Humans barely knew this land existed. Just the way I wanted it to be. Alone.
I don't need people snooping about. I have already had enough of their thoughts that it's no longer interesting. Nothing is unique about them anymore. Well, apart from the jokes that they keep thinking about. Those are funny and stupid.
I sauntered towards my cottage as I hummed an old tune I remembered my mother teaching me. It was from the mediaeval. It was just a chant technically but I always liked her taste in music anyway.
I saw my house from a far. Ah, the place I call home. My cosy cottage where I could finally find something cosy to wear and have a hot mug of coffee. I loved coffee. I walked towards it as I plucked some rosemary from the garden.
Suddenly a loud blast from no where was heard followed by a terrible earthquake. My cottage immediately fell apart, pieces of it flew everywhere. Well, there goes my cup of coffee.
Before I could recover from the crash another crush followed. Why am I being attacked? Or maybe it's those army people doing this to my house. 'Well, it's moving time I guess. Bye bye island. You served your purpose while you lasted.' I thought.
I started walking towards the debris just to check for some clothes hoping I would find something decent to wear at least. I could not run away from the island like this. I ran towards the debris trying to make a quick escape.
I walked on the sides towards my bedroom. Or at least the remnants of my bedroom. Humans. So violent.
I worked my way through the pile of wood and parts of the roof that were broken into dust. I studied the pile for some time before concluding that man could not have come with something as efficient as this. This had completely destroyed everything in my house to small particles.
A hand pulled through the debris before a blast happened making me step back. No man could survive that. Only.
'Immortals.'
Not just any immortals. Powerful immortals. He would be out of there in seconds. Seconds were enough for me to hide away from those creatures. But once they sensed you there was no escape from them. I quickly chanted a protection spell I had learnt from some humans who had known about the immortals. It's was only meant to hide me from the person who was after me.
Before I was done, a gigantic man appeared from the debris. His skin was light. A little lighter than mine but not white. His muscles protruded from his navy blue t-shirt that was now ripped. His hair was in dreadlocks. He had a small beard that was well trimmed. He looked at me as if he was staring into something unknown. His blue orbs stared into mine. He looked confused. That means more time for me to run. He raised his brow slightly before slanting his head to the side.
I closed my eyes to finish the spell before he did something that I would regret all my life. I felt his gaze on my exposed thighs. That didn't stop me from finishing my chant.
"...Laos estallie. Now!", I whispered then opened one of my eyes to see if it had worked.
He smiled at me before chuckling.
"Where did you learn that baby?", he asked in a deep husky voice that almost made me kneel before him. I looked up to him before stretching out my hand to touch his skin. Well, I was not a love sick puppy but I needed some distraction to run away from this guy. Maybe I could read his thoughts.
I gulped before I quickly sunk my teeth into his throat before he could move. He flinched. I tried to intrude his mind to get anything, at least something that would help me identify his status. I only saw a big throne. Nothing else.
I quickly retrieved when I felt the burning feeling I have never had in centuries start. The dissatisfaction of not knowing something or figuring it out. I quickly stepped away from him as I felt a burning sensation at the pit of my stomach. His face looked unfazed. He stood still watching me. Arms on his hips as I fell back into the debris. I suddenly felt hungry and weak again. I needed to know. I looked around as my eyes became blurry.
I could sense a body. Another mind that I could open and maybe find something new.
"B..bo..bod...dd..y", I whizzed. He raised his brow before pulling out a body from the debris and throwing it next to me. I was flooded with images of things I had never seen before. So much to know about a single man. He was also an immortal. His body was lifeless and that's why I got his thoughts as quickly before his brain died. I felt His thoughts that were evil. Though I saw nothing much before his brain shutdown. His 17years could last me some days before before I needed some other guy to open up his brain for me.
I looked up to the per man before me.
I had seen him. They grew up together. They were brothers.
He killed his own brother
