chapter 1: Stars

..The group was getting prepared to fight the raiders as Clem said but I asked if she wanted to help me with the bell tower and to check the group from the top but Louis asked her if she wanted to help him with the piano...it was me or Louis, Clem seemed confused and having no choice but her decision drove me crazy!..her face made it look simply easy Why would she choose me? Does she like me!? Am I really something to her!?.. yeah umm... I'll just stop thinking about that... c'mon we don't even know each other that much!..But I'll have to be calm in front of her we're just gonna be in the bell tower no?.. that would've been simple and boring we all are getting used to doing these chores but it's still boring as hell but well I mean I'll really appreciate that, not much people that I cared about came back but she did... why?.. ok just shut up and relax... she followed me to the bell tower and I am somehow happy that she's coming with me... we have arrived and I opened the door for her she entered and started to scan the place with her eyes all around the place while I was trying to get up the tower... "So. we're checking the walls?".. "Yup. From up there. That's the best view" I said normally... Clem looked up where I was walking with an unsecured face... "You ready for a climb?" She seemed like she insisted so she followed every step I did I almost falled but I didn't give a damm fuck about it... "Looks a little dangerous" "what's more dangerous than walkers? Or that death trap you call a car" I laughed a bit... "Ok. Fair"... "c'mon you're not chicken, right?" I said calmly like nothing was wrong "no." She giggled... I changed the subject by having my memories on chicken nuggets I used to get on Sunday's my grandma used to cook those in the morning damm I'd give an EYEBALL for a chicken nugget right now... I joked... with all that talking we made it on top from the bell tower. There it was the beautiful moon... and the stars where pretty too... seemed romantic... ugh what am I thinking we're just friends right? I thought so much in my mind that I feel like we have some strong connection on each other... she looked around from above the tower she saw the beautiful sky and on bottom she saw the group and the school being ready for this fight... I waited in a balcony while seeing the whole school from down there... "barb wire, traps, weapons, it's everything we planned" "you made it happen. We couldn't have done it without you" I said, she smiled back at me she seemed like she taken that as a compliment... I smiled back but I gave there a nervous face..."you've got lookout duty tonight, right?" "Yep, me and AJ" I heard her correctly but after she just leaves I wanted to hang out with her first... "...do you have time to hangout first?" I felt like she would've just rejected that but she accepted "sure" she said... I was leading the way so we could just hangout... "wow, beautiful" "sometimes I need the quiet just to get away for a while"... "clem" "yeah?" "You know you came back for medicine, for AJ, but after that you could've just left" I said while wondering why she came back... "avoided all the bullshit with the raiders..."... "why,didn't you?" She gave me a look and I quickly responded with a worried face "sorry I know that puts you on the spot."... "you don't have to answer..." I said nervously... "we all got our reasons"... "why would I go anywhere else. If you're here?"... I-I was shocked with that response I was kinda flustered with her response... "I'm glad..." she changed a bit the subject that's what I kinda thought... "do you know any constellations?" "Nope, you?" "I learned some in school, but I can't remember them." I paused and thanked of an idea to make this entertaining... "let's make some up.." I led her over here in a wide spot where we both could see the stars above us... "if I remember right, everyone's born under a special sign, right? It determines your personality" "that's called astrology, not astronomy" she corrected me "whatever, let's just make up our own" I said... "rules, signs, what it says about you" "it's not like anyone remembers the old way." I said jokingly... "okay let's do it. There! See? It's a fish.." I pointed on the stars waiting for clem to connect them with her eyes patiently... seemed like she connected it by looking at me... "right. Now it needs a personality." I was thinking for a bit... "bright, pretty, good with other people. Always moving around, tons of energy. Sounds like anyone we know?.." she stayed there quietly probably thinking who could that be... "the energy one is easy, good with people, not so much..." I repeated... "yeah, that sounds like you..." I giggled "weren't you listening?.. I said "good with other people" "well maybe not that part" she joked... "I'll try to take the rest as a compliment"... "I spy with my eye a knife. See it?" I said while I was looking at the wide group of stars... "right there, right above your head." I showed her... "yeah, they're all above my head." She joked again... god her giggles are adorable I thought... wait what am I thinking stop it Vi!.. we're just friends... she probably just likes me as a friend I doubt that... she finished forming the constellation... "awesome. Mm, this one's easy. Smart, clean, viscous, dependable. Someone you want with you in a fight... "doesn't take crap from anyone, gets shit done " I said... she paused and thinked... "sounds just like you" she repeated... "c'mon you can't just give me every sign, someone else" I replied... she thinked again... "that's mine, definitely"..."yeah that's a good one for you"... "wish everyone would've seen all that sooner"... "ok one more time...I found a bird" "Like a real bird?..." "no, a star bird" "right there" I showed her by giving some sign with my head... "a bird is free" it can go anywhere it wanted to" "up and up and up and never come back" "go south, east, west, doesn't matter"... "you could fly straight into a sunset"... "and seen where it ends"..."it's all of us..." "everyone here wishes they could fly away from all of this"... "maybe we'll learn to fly together, someday" I insisted but i noticed that sounded kinda wierd... "sorry I didn't mean to just... talk so much"... "it's just I've seen people leave before, family, friends. They never come back"... "but you did. And now I can't imagine what it would be if you weren't here" I said kinda nervous but I also felt happy she's here where me and the group is like a family... like a home... "um, shit that sounds so mu h dumber when I say it out loud..."... "you know what I mean..."........... "I think... I mean... I hope... we're more than friends" she said.... my eyes widened by her response... WHAT SHE HAS FEELINGS FOR ME I- I GOD... I felt sweaty and feeling empty like I couldn't fuckin breathe........... "and I want..."...Does she want me!? HOLY SHIT I- I'll just stop thinking and say nothing... but I'm with minnie no... well she is probably dead... which I feel like I miss her... she also seemed harsh I picture clem's personality much better... she is kind...pretty...a badass...has survived all of this... I stayed silent by all I've been thinking I do like her but never told her because of this shitty apocalypse and these raiders attacking our home to kidnap us........... I suddenly felt her warm lips to mine...soft and sweet I have never felt so different... I got shocked by this I feel very speechless now I now noticed I'm red as a fuckin strawberry... "holy shit"....... "that's romantic" she said.... this literally drove me crazy..."I mean, holy shit" I smiled ear to ear and added my hand to hers... she looked at me with a kind smile and looked back at the sky so did I... stared at the pretty night sky...

"Vi? Clem? You out there?.. it was Ruby...

"Shit sticks" "probably time for your lookout shift. Ready?.."

"Yeah"

We left the tower with a smile...
